Cricket
Cricket used to have good service, but since they sold to AT&T their service sucks. And their customer service is even worse. They are rude and they lie to you they tell you they will call you back and never do. They such bigtime!.

Love saving money... affordable phone bill huge plus. Mike at Cricket store on Menual has incredible customer service, is patient and very helpful. This is the 2nd phone same model I'm testing... the 1st phone did not drop calls. 2nd phone says "service unavailable" dead zones paseo &I-25... then again on tramway exit off I-25 drops call. I got service in Socorro and all over the rest of city.:)

I live in an adobe house with tin roofs, a wireless nightmare, and as I watch people with all other phone networks suffer in our house, T-Mobile has always worked very well here. Always 4G, not always LTE. They have been working on the towers over at this intersection for more than 4 weeks, (October / November 2014). Verizon is so bad here that I had to drive 2 miles away just to initialize my sis-in-law's new Verizon phones. She lives in old town ABQ and her phone only works AT ALL in a few spots in her house. Why she hangs with Verizon is beyond me.

I can't compare to other services, Cricket is cheaper than other services, but I do get dropped calls, I do have dead zones in certain areas in Albuquerque in places where everyone else with different services have many bars. frustrating because this includes work place. There are also places that I have more bars than other people with different services. At times, my texts don't go through and I don't receive others and phone doesn't tell me anything. And data is slower than other people with other services. Because of price and because AT&T it is tempting to keep cricket. But because of needing phone service at work place or the drop calls come at wrong times and texting. I'm going to try out Verizon prepaid and than compare.

My Sprint service is by far the worst it has ever been. For the past ten months they would tell me to wait for the tower upgrades but they nothing has gotten better. My calls get dropped numerous times a day and I have to stand in certain parts of my home to keep decent service. Even though my calls have been dropped several times while talking to the Sprint Technical Support technician, they refuse to let me out of my contract and offer me a $10 credit. I am fed up and feel trapped by sprint.

Moved to ABQ from So CA last month. From the day I got into ABQ, I've had problems with internet connections. Internet connection was spotting at best throughout the city. Unable to use navigation apps consistently, which I have to depend on. I have contacted Sprint almost on a daily basis. Last talked to Jackie Supervisor for Accounts. She was rude and condescending. I am requesting waiver of early termination fees as Sprint service here in ABQ is poor in regards to data. I need a service which will provide consistent access to internet. I have been with Sprint since 2010 in So CA. Never had a problem with service nor a reason to contact customer service. Now that I need to relay on internet access, I've received unreliable service and poor customer service.

Finally 4g lte reception along Tramway,I did a speed test and was getting 27 mb download and 9 upload, Amazing! Finally sure signs that Sprint is moving forward. I was also able to get 4g in the area of Eagle ranch road from about Montano Northbound for about 1.5 miles then signal fades, I was able to record about 3 mb download, not the greatest but for now it should only get better. It's been a long wait, hopefully itwas worth it!

I finally am receiving 4g lte coverage from Sprint. I was driving home yesterday and my son told me, I have 4g on my phone, I did look down at my phone and sure enough I was receiving 4g signal. It's almost the same footprint of the wimax signal. But the signal soon faded once you heading westbound passing San Mateo Blvd. I'm sure Spring is testing 4g in area and hope Albuquerque lights up around here with 4g soon.

I had Sprint for 2 and half years and it was the worst service ever! Shoot I'm pretty sure Cricket is better than them. Anyways, I switched over to T-Mobile and I am beyond satisfied with their service. I have 4g lte everywhere I go and their data speeds are fast. Sprint is a joke because back in 2012, I was told lte was going to be out soon and not once have I gotten lte. My calls kept on dropping, texts didn't go through at times, and I couldn't watch Youtube videos or load a web page. I recommend T-Mobile because they are basically the same price as Sprint but they actually have a network that works great! Thank you Tim Tebow for influencing me to switch!

After looking at the Sprint coverage map for Albuquerque Westside, I can see why the service is so bad--there are only two towers covering Cottonwood Mall and south to I-40. Also, there are rumors going around about Sprint upgrading their ABQ service to LTE, but that is not in the forseeable future. Most of what ABQ is seeing now is 3G 'equipment upgrades' which probably equates to installing the newer equipment from the LTE upgrades in other states to ABQ. If you decide to purchase a VM phone or Sprint service, and live on West-side, make sure you keep your 30 day return receipt and note phone and data reliability. My experience has been marginal to bad, but I already spent over $1,000 for three phones, which apparently can't be switched to any other service--even though I paid for them. Arrgh.
