Alltel

I have been really happy with Alltel they arent perfict but they are better then any other carier iv had before, in Pena Blanca Alltel and Cingular are the only cariers that have towers out there not even my freinds Verizon phone worked out there.

I've been with Alltel for 10 years. I have broke away and tried Verizon once about 5 years ago, but it didn't work out and I switch back within 6 mo. I travel all over NM with my job and Alltel does well. They are certainly not perfect, but do a very good job. I also Have an air card with them and the service have been good. I am not happy that the majority of the State has EVDO internet, but Albuquerque / Santa FE do not. They have been promising this within the next 2 mo for the last year. Now they are saying 6 / 07. That is my only complaint with them. What few billing issues I have had have been addressed quickly and in a professional manner.

I have been with Alltel under various names since 1991. Most of the people I work with are with Verizon, between Albquerque and Taos, Alltel has constantly given me good coverage. In agreement with another review though, Wyoming and Osuna is a dead spot and will drop any call in progress. Must be the Police sub-station I have guessed.

Drop calls in side house and the only way to receive a call is to be by a window, very bad location for Cingular phones. If you go out side of house to the east singal is fine.

I've had pretty decent coverage with T-Mobile. I've never had a dropped call in Albuquerque on T-Mobile. I will admit their coverage outside of the city is kind of spotty, and, at points, I will go roaming on Cingular while outside of the city.

I'm very happy with my Cingular service all over Rio Rancho. No problems since I got their service (>6 months).

Use both cellphone and aircard for internet and get a very good useable signal all over town. Air card never drops out, cellphone will drop sometimes.

Tried them all over the past 8 years... Verizon, Tmobile, Alltel, Sprint, Cricket, and now Cingular... I do business all over Albuquerque and Cingular is by far the best!

guess living next to the petroglyph has it's advantages and disadvantages, cell reception is #1 on the disadvantage list! 1 BAR and repeated dropped calls!

NOK 6010 bar phone usually gets 3 bars or better and have had very few dropped calls. Tried upgrading to flip phones (Samsung t-209, t-309 and Motorola V195) but all 3 dropped calls repeatedly. Finally had to cancel upgrade and continue with NOK 6010. T-Mobile coverage map shows this area as reliable for outside calls but may have problem from inside buildings. As I most often use the phone from home, going outside for calls is impractical. T-Mobile says they are requesting permission to install more towers in area but no time frame at present.
