I am glad that there is a poll that can guide me to a carrier that possibly has better service in my area. Thanks!

AT&T does not work on Sunset Blvd.in large portions of Echo Park and Silver Lake. Just dead.

Most of my calls are drop, even with Sprint airave. I have an Evo phone. I am paying for a land line in order to communicate with the outside world from my condo

AT&T

I've been tolerating no coverage and dropped calls in my apartment WAAAAY too long, and promises that they're working to improve service have led to zero improvements.

Verizon

4 Out of 5 (4 stars) | Melrose | LaBrea, Los Angeles, CA 90046 |

In general very good. Was told when I moved into my apt not to get Sprint because of no reception inside the old apt building. Verizon has mostly been very reliable in all parts of the city, including places my work takes me to such as East LA, West LA, Palmdale. But inside my apt there are a couple areas where the reception is not reliable -- for some reason calls are dropped often in my kitchen and dining room. The rest of my apt, calls are fine. And sometimes driving on Melrose just east of La Cienega, a call will drop.

Verizon

0 Out of 5 (0 stars) | 1650 Echo Park Ave. | Lucretia, Los Angeles, CA 90026 |

Terrible reception in the last 12 months since 36 eyesore town homes were built across the street. My iPhone 4S dropped calls ALWAYS when home so I upgraded to the 5c and it is slightly better but absolutely NO DATA reliability and rarely gets anything more than 1-2 bars. LTE my eye! Visitors with AT&T get 3-4 bars on 4G... blazingly quick compared to my service that SUCKS. Extremely frustrated especially when Verizon admits poor reception in this area and suggested purchasing a signal booster... which works off the internet / wifi. Really?! I didn't spend $200 for a 2 year contract to get such terrible service. Goodbye Verizon.

Sprint

1 Out of 5 (1 star) | Hollywood Blvd. | La Brea Ave., Los Angeles, CA 90028 |

My office building is near the corner of Hollywood and La Brea just a couple blocks from the Chinese Theater, Dolby Theater, and El Capitan. I've never had good voice or data reception on my iPhone 4S since I started working there (about a year and a half now). I sit right next to a window and it's still pretty terrible. A few times I tried walking up to the roof of our 12-story building to see if that changed anything but it was the same bad reception. When I walk east on Hollywood towards Highland, voice reception seems to get better but data is still patchy where the signal constantly switches between 3G and the circle (now 1x on iOS7). Basically I have to rely on my company's wi-fi and my desk phone for 8 hours a day. I hate to sound like an entitled, 1st-world douchebag… but this is HOLLYWOOD. Can we please get some reception around here??

I always have great signal everywhere I go I even go all the way to Salinas and still have all my bars. Maybe twice out of the year that I had this phone has a call dropped. Great Job AT&T!

Sprint

1 Out of 5 (1 star) | Colorado Blvd. | Chickasaw and Townsend, Los Angeles, CA 90041 |

As of very recently, Sprint has stopped servicing this area altogether. I've spent hours talking to customer service, chatting online and talking to employees at the store. Now all calls from home are "roaming" and my bill is $400. They shut down the tower and are letting another carrier take over but they don't know or won't tell me who. They say they said they are cutting us off on a bill, but I didn't read the 6 pages carefully enough. Very disappointing. Return the phone and fax a power bill and they'll let you out of your contract.

I've had AT&T for 10years, service has always be lousy, even with their $100 MicroCell.
