Like other reviewers, I would sat that reception in the Long Beach, Signal Hill area is terrible. Service with ATT was o.k. but Cinguar is a waste of money. A million free rollover minutes won't do you any good in this area. My Nokia (I've had 2and a Motorola) is a paperweight. Good thing the Nokia is supplied by work. (No one can ever reach me!) My personal carrier is Verizon (LG VX600). It isn't perfect, but I pay for this one and I'll stick with them. Was this review helpful to you?
its always good in the long beach area, the only problem is inside of the building. but not offenWas this review helpful to you?
Reception seems to change with in the same room with most companies and phones, so I'm not sure one can extrapolate this to represent a total experienes. However, GSM systems (Cingular / T-Mobile) tend not to have as good of reception as CDMA / TDMA (Sprint / Verizon) systems. Their 'tracking' seems more consistent. For calling / going overseas and for the ease of a SIM card which stores call info, I still prefer GSM service. There will always be sketchy spots. Was this review helpful to you?
Calls drop inside or outside my building. Sometimes no reception at all or calls go to voicemail right away. Was this review helpful to you?
I live in Long Beach but travel hundreds of miles each week all over LA and Orange county for work. I am constantly on the phone in the car, and only rarely do I get dropped. When I first signed up with them 5 years ago I lived in Laguna Niguel, and the reception was poor because of all of the canyons, but 2 weeks later they put up new towers and it was perfect. As for customer service... well, that is another story, but most companies are a pain to deal with from what I hear. If reception is your main concern, switch to Sprint! Was this review helpful to you?
The LG 1300 phone from Cingular gets little reception ANYWHERE..it cuts off calls and says "emergency only" for about 30% of the time the phone is on.Was this review helpful to you?

Always have outstanding reception with Verizon at home and most places in LA. I almost never experience dropped calls or other reception or connectivity issues. This is also the case in the other Metro-areas I frequent (NY, SF, Detroit)Was this review helpful to you?
