AT&T

For the last week reception will cut out for no reason. Tried soft and hard resets of phone, called AT&T, nothing works so far.

Update on 1-10-2013 post... .after finally obtaining data needed to talk with customer service, I spoke to one rep. who took 10 minutes to find out that they were performing "upgrades' on the local tower. He was unable to provide estimated date of completion and passed me off on someone in "technical support" without passing on any details. Had to go through entire thing over again and explain it all over. Representative wanted to restart phone, disassemble phone and a bunch of other stuff instead of get me an answer to the E.T.A. question... .in fact she denied there was any tower work being done. When pushed she put me on hold and eventually came back and confirmed that there were tower "upgrades" un progress... ... no, she had no idea of when they would be complete, no she didn't care that no one here at work can communicate, no she wasn't going to offer anything for "your service issues" (they aren't MY issues... .AT&T owns the tower, it is THEIR issue!), no there was no one else who could provide me any more information, and when I insisted on speaking to a manager she asked to put me on hold, the line went dead and after holding in silence for 15 minutes I hung up. The next attempt to contact the service phone number resulted in a message that they were unable to assist at this time... call back later... COMPLETELY USELESS "customer service". Needless to say, when the contract comes up for renewal AT&T is DONE.

Jan 9 and now 10 there has been NO outgoing or incoming cellular service. Texting and internet are functioning and voicemail is intermittent. This is affecting all my known AT&T user friends regardless of "smart" or conventional phone. Bars fluctuate between 5 and "No Service". Attempting outgoing calls from conventional phones results in "Emergency Calls Only" displayed on screen. Attempting outgoing calls from "smart" phones results in "Call Failed". Incoming callers get normal ringing tones but phone never rings... .voice messages, if left, will chime on the phone and sometimes can be retrieved and at other times fails. Spent an hour trying to find a way to notify AT&T of issue but they will not talk to me without a bunch of information that I need to get from my wife, but cant get at the moment because she also can't take or make phone calls. They will not even take a report of tower issues.

Very little to none coverage at this location. In and out of Roming. I have to use an Airave to get coverage in house.Its been like that for over 6 years.

There is no text messaging capability. We cannot use cell phone to call out or receive calls or texting. Texting signal works intermittently.

The phone I use usually gets from 0-2 bars in my house. Sometimes it gets 3 but as soon as you move it it drops. The data speeds are also mediocre. 3G usually gets around.3 megabits per second download. 4g gets around.6 megabits per second.

Currently 100% of my calls have weak signals and broken speech with about 33% dropping.

Regarding the 4G signal at the Lakewood mall - I neglected to say it was 4G LTE

Sprint's 4G signal is live. I measured between 15 and 19 Mbs with a Samsung Galaxy S III sitting in the Costco Parking lot - 5 bars. Very fast!

No data! No Wimax, no 3G, not even 1X in the Seal Beach Parking Lot! This is the 21st century, people.. highly unacceptable for coverage in any urban area!
