T-Mobile

Reception goes from 2 bars to no bars through out the neighborhood, with all calls over 2 minutes dropping. Calls frequently go straight to voicemail. T-Mobile insists that this is a "4 bar area" and that there are 4 phone trees in a 2 mile radius, and that they have NO IDEA why there's no service. For the record, I tested my friends' collective cell phone service in my house at a recent dinner party. AT&T and Sprint had 3 bars, Verizon had 4 bars. T-Mobile folk had 1-0. Who is lying to whom? Their suggestion? That I spend $200 bucks on a new "Hotspot at Home" compatible phone and extend my contract two more years piggybacking off of my Verizon wireless DSL modem's signal. Why should I pay twice for the same phone signal?

Reception is horrible at my work in fullerton, CA at imperial and harbor. Reception doesn't really improve at my home either. Really considering getting a new carrier.

I have almost perfect to perfect reception anywhere I go, usually in huntington beach, but inside midway city, the reception sucks, I had Verizon before and had same results in midway city.

Nextel sucks in this area, 1 bat to no sevice, lots of dropped calls.

five bars at all times, pretty much anywhere I go. Verizon is hands down the best coverage in the Southern California area. When I used to live in Cypress near the racetrack, I tried using both Cingular and T-Mobile, and could BARELY get one bar! I'm tempted to go to CDMA companies like tmobile / at&t / cingular so I can use a european spec phone, but I cannot tolerate the terrible coverage which ensues with those companys. : )

I had T-Mobile and their bars would always be full but I would be in the middle of a call and all of a sudden it got dropped. Happened with several different phones so it is the T-Mobile network. I switched to Verzion Wireless and have not have a dropped call yet (over a month now). Reception is great and sound is really good. I may pay $15 more a month but at least I get reliable service. I travel through the east side of Long Beach, Signal Hill, and on the freeway to Manhattan Beach and always have good reception. I am very pleased with my switch to Verizon.

Have not been able to make or receive calls in the Ball Rd, Nutwood St. Cerritos Ave. Modeska Park Anaheim area since Jan 21. A T and T has gone from they don't know what the problem is, to trying to fix the problem. Now they say they have lost their agreement with the carrier in this area. Their customer service is terrible. You can't believe anything they say.

AT&T's "more bars everywhere" slogan is so untrue here in Bellflower, El Segundo, Carson, and Huntington Beach! When they converted to GSM their reception jumped up a whole 1 / 2 bar! No more AT&T for this sucker... ..

No cell service indoors, despite being only 100 yards from the freeway. Minimal and often no service outside. Calls in the area often go straight to voicemail. I have t-Mobile now, but have had Nextel, AT&T and Sprint. None are any better.
