This whole area is weak and this phone and service will not work in my track. Zero reception in the house and maybe 1 bar outside. Tried a new phone same results.

Always have outstanding reception with Verizon at home and most places in LA. I almost never experience dropped calls or other reception or connectivity issues. This is also the case in the other Metro-areas I frequent (NY, SF, Detroit)

Used to have great reception with AT&T. Since Cingular took over, I have noticed a steady decline in reception. Calls drop very frequently now, and I never used to drop them berfore. I used to be able to make calls within my house; now I have no signal. Time to switch carriers. Cingular is pretty bad.

At home, Had AT&T TDMA, no problem. Switched to Cingular GSM and poor to no signal. Manually switched phone network to AT&T and bingo 5 bars again. Customer service said the cell antenna accross the street is "blue" (AT&T) on thier map. I hope when the fully integrate the new gsm system, the switch this antenna over too.

Cingular is working very well here. I've tried them all, and Verizon is probably the best, but Cingular is a close 2nd. It seems that Long Beach is a bit spotty in coverage with Sprint and ATT, although not unusable - sometimes one house over or across the street makes the difference.
