Sprint's reception and 4g service is overall good in Long Beach, but I live in an apartment building in downtown. Bars flactuate from 0 to 3 and usually callers say that my voice is breaking.

I had Sprint for a few years, use to be great till mid summer of 2012. Now all I get when I'm at home is dropped calls, or goes directly to voice mail. Sprint keeps telling me that the cell tower on Lakewood Blvd.and Cherry are down for repairs. I ordered the modem, hoping to get this week.

I recently changed from AT&T to Sprint when the iPhone 5 came out. That was the worst choice I could have made. Sprint has the worst reception I have experienced in years! I have absolutely no reception at home and everyone is always telling me that they called but there are no missed calls on my phone. Any building I go in is pretty much one bar worthy. As for the Internet, it's extremely slow and so not worth their "unlimited Internet" advertisement. Unless you live in Texas, it's not even worth getting Sprint!

Service with T-Mobile is an absolute nightmare. Reception is almost non-existent in or outside of my home. I can't even get a single bar to make an emergency call to my family. I would actually consider it a success if I'm able to obtain a single bar at all. I literally need to spend up to ten minutes moving from room to room, inside to outside, front yard to back yard, etc to get enough signal strength for the" emergency calls only" sign to go away long enough to place a call. And conversations need to be quick because the call is dropped in less than a minute. Im very unsatisfied with tmobile's wireless service. If you live in this area of long beach, I would look into another provider.

Reception with AT&T has always been shoddy in the SIgnal Hill areas because of the hills and proximity to the airport. Calls are always broken up depending on where you are walking or driving on the hill. I'm glad that the iphone is now available with Verizon.

I've had Sprint for about 8 years now and for the most part they've been a good company for me, including customer service (especially at 6 am in the morning). I live in a very large complex in this area. I've never gotten good reception within the complex, but I've noticed the past 3 weeks reception within this whole area has been poor to none. My calls are now dropping and I practically have to drive more than a mile away in any direction to even make, let lone receive a call. I've also notice that voice messages and text aren't coming through until hours later. Not sure what's going on, but my contract is up in Nov and if I don't see any improvements, I may need to switch carriers.
