verizon always has great reception in my area, and surrounding areas... pretty much everywhere i've taken it... both coasts, north and south. its awesome, even in hawaii. i just hate the company so much it makes my blood boil. they lock ever feature and give you a crappy one they've designed to make them money instead. their phones are terrible, but the coverage and reception is unparalleled. Was this review helpful to you?
Reception goes from 2 bars to no bars through out the neighborhood, with all calls over 2 minutes dropping. Calls frequently go straight to voicemail. T-Mobile insists that this is a "4 bar area" and that there are 4 phone trees in a 2 mile radius, and that they have NO IDEA why there's no service. For the record, I tested my friends' collective cell phone service in my house at a recent dinner party. AT&T and Sprint had 3 bars, Verizon had 4 bars. T-Mobile folk had 1-0. Who is lying to whom? Their suggestion? That I spend $200 bucks on a new "Hotspot at Home" compatible phone and extend my contract two more years piggybacking off of my Verizon wireless DSL modem's signal. Why should I pay twice for the same phone signal? Was this review helpful to you?
I been using AT&T going on 2 years and the reception is horrible. No bars inside my house constanly dropping calls. If I need to use my phone I need to walk out to talk. Or if I'am in my room I just hear the phone ring and then it droops the call. I spike with a sales representative and toldthem my problem I was haveing. She ever told me that they knew they had that problem. The don't have enouh attenas or setalite on alot of areas. I'am just waiting one more month b-4 my contract is over. After Iam going with T-Mobile or Sprint no more AT&T they are horrible... Be carefull when you buy a phone with them ask them first how the reception is in your city...Was this review helpful to you?
Nextel sucks in this area, 1 bat to no sevice, lots of dropped calls. Was this review helpful to you?
I had T-Mobile and their bars would always be full but I would be in the middle of a call and all of a sudden it got dropped. Happened with several different phones so it is the T-Mobile network. I switched to Verzion Wireless and have not have a dropped call yet (over a month now). Reception is great and sound is really good. I may pay $15 more a month but at least I get reliable service. I travel through the east side of Long Beach, Signal Hill, and on the freeway to Manhattan Beach and always have good reception. I am very pleased with my switch to Verizon. Was this review helpful to you?
AT&T's "more bars everywhere" slogan is so untrue here in Bellflower, El Segundo, Carson, and Huntington Beach! When they converted to GSM their reception jumped up a whole 1 / 2 bar! No more AT&T for this sucker... ..Was this review helpful to you?
No cell service indoors, despite being only 100 yards from the freeway. Minimal and often no service outside. Calls in the area often go straight to voicemail. I have t-Mobile now, but have had Nextel, AT&T and Sprint. None are any better. Was this review helpful to you?
We cannot use the phone at all at home. When a call does come through it drops off within a few seconds. Was this review helpful to you?
I've been happy with Sprint until recently when they merged with Nextel. Signal is fine. Phone is good. Prices okay. But I do not like the web-site and customer service changes since the merger. A new billing system is being phased in. Can you believe that in this age of identity theft, they are asking for pass words and pin numbers over the phone before they will help you? The old system they would ask for last four of Social Security number. I'm very disappointed. Since my contract expires in 7 days, I am checking out Verizon after reading the mostly good comments about them here as opposed to the lousy comments for the other carriers. Was this review helpful to you?
We moved into our apartment in March 2006. Our T Mobile reception was great for the first year and then it suddenly turned to crap in March 2007. Both of us had Motorola phones (I believe they were the V180) and began experiencing dropped calls on EVERY call. Incoming calls often went straight to voicemail. Numerous calls to TMobile resulted in them convincing us to upgrade our phones from the free Motorolas. So we did. Stupidly. After reading various reviews, we both bought the Nokia 6133, which meant our contracts were renewed for another 2 hellish years. New phones did nothing to improve our reception. More calls to TMobile resulted in a promise of 'network enhancement' in our area that would take up to 120 days. It's been more than 120 days and our reception is virtually nonexistent. We actually broke down and had Charter Comm install a land line last week so we can communicate with the outside world. I deeply regret leaving Cingular. I will most like pony up the $200 to get out of my TMobile contract and go back to them if my reception doesn't improve in the immediate future. Honestly, I didn't know what a dropped call was until I became a TMobile customer. I hate, loathe and despise TMobile. I would happily join a class action lawsuit if anyone cares to file one.Was this review helpful to you?
