Verizon

Rarely LTE, 3G and voice drop in and out. 3G slow enough to be pointless.

Sprint is garbage! Metro PCS gets better service than Sprint!

I just moved to Long Beach after many years in the San Fernando Valley. Up until now, I have NEVER had issues with my cell reception. Now I'm going to have to make a change, because my phone is not just for texting and taking pics! Every time I attempt a phone call, it's a struggle because of all the crackling noises and dropped calls. I am not really a direct T-Mobile customer, but my provider, Simple Mobile is using their towers, as is MetroPCS. I'guess I'll be scouring the internet for a solution, because this is not working for me! And oh yeah... I have a brand new phone that I love and it's 4G LTE.

Sprint claims to have improved their service but simply can't keep up with the reputation of the other big cellular company. I lived a block away from a cell tower and still couldn't get 4G data signal and later the 4G LTE signal Sprint claimed to offer. At that point they were charging me close to $200 a month for 3 lines that got poor service. The part that irks me the most of this company is that they were charging an extra $10 a month for "premium data per line" for a couple of months for unavailable "premium data" in our metropolitan area. Is it even legal to charge for a service you can't even provide? Sprint was sued in regard of the surcharges they impose. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT give Sprint your money.

I switched from Verizon to AT&T, not because of poor service but because I needed a GSM phone for work abroad. Before switching from Verizon, I had to go into my front yard in order to get a Verizon signal. Now, with AT&T, I consistently get 2-3 out of 5 bars on an iPhone. While some people would consider that average or poor, I don't. With AT&T, I can talk and surf the web at the same time (couldn't do that with Verizon). In my travels around town, I have yet to find a spot where I did not have any service, although sometimes I had only 1 bar of service.

I just want to address the TMo review (Downey, CA) below mine so I don't come off as a TMo saleperson. I AM NOT. Are you using a non-LTE capable phone? I still have my LG Optimus L9. It uses TMo's HSPA+ network. Speeds on that phone have gotten noticeably worse over the last year. I'm speculating of course but it wouldn't surprise me that it's because TMo are doing minimum maintenance on that older network as they move towards upgrading to LTE. I will reiterate again, TMo's LTE speeds are up there...

I notice that most of the reviews for T-Mobile are from 2013. Fair enough since there was no LTE in 2013, I believe. I have a LG G3 and I average on Ookla: 35 ping, 45Mbps download, 48Mbps upload... Granted, these are averages. These speeds are close to my FiOS speeds! LOVE T-Mobile! Now, I will say that TMo has weaker building penetration than Verizon or AT&T, can't say for sure about Squeek, err, Sprint.

I've been a customer since 2001 and have NEVER had any problems with Verizon. But for the past year, my service has been horrible, especially near lb poly area and where I live in Bixby Knolls. (I have plaster walls which may be the reason). I have a Note 3 and love it but with the inconsistent call drops and lack of 4g it is hurting me and the clients I deal with. I never ever thought of going with another company but it looks like I may be switching if the new update does not come soon. Please help us, VERIZON!

For over a year now I have had terrible Sprint data coverage issues. Never had 4G from my Samsung galaxy. Very disappointed. Be careful with Sprint. Substandard reception.
