I just moved to Long Beach after many years in the San Fernando Valley. Up until now, I have NEVER had issues with my cell reception. Now I'm going to have to make a change, because my phone is not just for texting and taking pics! Every time I attempt a phone call, it's a struggle because of all the crackling noises and dropped calls. I am not really a direct T-Mobile customer, but my provider, Simple Mobile is using their towers, as is MetroPCS. I'guess I'll be scouring the internet for a solution, because this is not working for me! And oh yeah... I have a brand new phone that I love and it's 4G LTE.Was this review helpful to you?
Sprint claims to have improved their service but simply can't keep up with the reputation of the other big cellular company. I lived a block away from a cell tower and still couldn't get 4G data signal and later the 4G LTE signal Sprint claimed to offer. At that point they were charging me close to $200 a month for 3 lines that got poor service. The part that irks me the most of this company is that they were charging an extra $10 a month for "premium data per line" for a couple of months for unavailable "premium data" in our metropolitan area. Is it even legal to charge for a service you can't even provide? Sprint was sued in regard of the surcharges they impose. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT give Sprint your money. Was this review helpful to you?
I've never had a problem with my Verizon in Downey. My husband always has to go outside our house to use his cell phone - He has AT&T.Was this review helpful to you?
I switched from Verizon to AT&T, not because of poor service but because I needed a GSM phone for work abroad. Before switching from Verizon, I had to go into my front yard in order to get a Verizon signal. Now, with AT&T, I consistently get 2-3 out of 5 bars on an iPhone. While some people would consider that average or poor, I don't. With AT&T, I can talk and surf the web at the same time (couldn't do that with Verizon). In my travels around town, I have yet to find a spot where I did not have any service, although sometimes I had only 1 bar of service. Was this review helpful to you?
I think that Verizon is getting a little bit zealous in the bigger is greater and just blowing off some customers like me. I asked them to please sign me up for bottom of the barrel elipses 7 tablet, since last wednesday, they have dropped the ball up to today, Monday 11 / 10 / 2014. I guess they are getting too greedy and not treating their customers as they should. Only ATT offers a 6.0 display which can equalize the Note 4, but ATT I hear their reception blows. What to do? Verizon doesn't care vs. ATT's bad reception, hmmm? What a monopoly of service...Was this review helpful to you?
Been a loyal Sprint t customer for 11 years now, not sure why. When they promised 4g with wimax phones I got one. Disappointed. Now got a LTE phone and been waiting 2 years for a faster connection. Disappointed. Okay so get this where I live, I haven't had LTE. Text are late calls are choppy 3g is at.10mbps no LTE. And the coverage map show LTE and spark. So I begin to complain in Oct of 2013. Each month I would call and all this time they blame my phone they say were going thru upgrades you know how hard it is. So after many months of this I am just told sep. Of 2014 that ohh towers in your area haven't been touched not even with 3g upgrades. I still get dropped calls, yet I'm told that I'm receiving 98% quality of service. Wherein socal the 2nd largest market and to get speeds under.25mbps. Sprint is just full of liesWas this review helpful to you?
I just want to address the TMo review (Downey, CA) below mine so I don't come off as a TMo saleperson. I AM NOT. Are you using a non-LTE capable phone? I still have my LG Optimus L9. It uses TMo's HSPA+ network. Speeds on that phone have gotten noticeably worse over the last year. I'm speculating of course but it wouldn't surprise me that it's because TMo are doing minimum maintenance on that older network as they move towards upgrading to LTE. I will reiterate again, TMo's LTE speeds are up there...Was this review helpful to you?
I notice that most of the reviews for T-Mobile are from 2013. Fair enough since there was no LTE in 2013, I believe. I have a LG G3 and I average on Ookla: 35 ping, 45Mbps download, 48Mbps upload... Granted, these are averages. These speeds are close to my FiOS speeds! LOVE T-Mobile! Now, I will say that TMo has weaker building penetration than Verizon or AT&T, can't say for sure about Squeek, err, Sprint. Was this review helpful to you?

Horrible reception near Downey high school library area. Can't get in touch with my kids after school. One bar at the most maybe 2 if I"m lucky. We miss each other's calls and texts. What's the point of having a cell to keep in touch with your kids if you cant? Also, we have to keep a land line in our apartment on Downey ave. near Alameda and Stewart and Gray because we don't have a good signal at all, calls drop, etc. Thanks T-Mobile, NOT. I guess I should pay the xtra money to have Verizon, I hear they are the best. But expensive. Then again, who wants cancerous cell phone towers near their home? It's a double edged sword. The harsh reality of relying on technology. Was this review helpful to you?
