Don't get incoming calls most of the times. And even if the call comes in it's dropped usually. Was this review helpful to you?
Old AT&T TDMA service, worked well, until we went on vacation. We have two devices of the same model and manufacture date. Well, the situation is now that one teases you a bit letting you think you might get in a convo, the other just isn't that kinda girl and not a tease. The really fun part was while we were on vacation, all calls home, to the ATT, the ONLY phone service in the house, were met with all circuits busy or just no signal and straight to voice mail. Cingular states that they are "working" on the issue. Oh, and they would like to move us to the GSM service, it will be "definitely more reliable." Service is often good elsewhere in the area, but at home, no go. So, in conclusion, this service is like a cheating husband, great everywhere else, but lousy at home and worthy of a thrashing. Reception on Shore side of 2nd St.Bridge is never consistent, and spotty at best. Signal strength rarely exceeds 2-3 bars, and typically shows 0-1 bars. Independent of phone model (I've had several Nokias and currenty use an Audiovox) phone calls frequently ring once at most, and then go either directly to my voice mail, or to a recording saying my number (of 5 years) was no longer in service. Lovely. Signal strength on the Naples side of the bridge is usually around 3 bars. And on either side of the bridge, text message notification often comes hours after message was originally sent, and some messages are never received at all. (Tho I did get one last week, around the 5th of October, dated March 16! Go figure... )Was this review helpful to you?
I am actually a Cingular subscriber that left a comment months ago (look below) about the poor reception in this area. Well, its because Cingular had me on the old AT&T network, which is TERRIBLE in this area. Do NOT sign up with Cingular in this area, because they put all new subscribers on the old AT&T network. It took months but I got them to switch me to roam on T-Mobile's network (which is the old Cingular network) and my reception is stellar. As soon as the switch was made, I got four-five bars and no more crossed calls. I will be switching to T-Mobile when my contract is up :)Was this review helpful to you?
Awesome reception--- all over cerritos! weve tried them all (and weve paid to cancel them all too) and Verizon by far is the best--- 5 stars everywhere around the house + all over cerritos and most of the places we travel! how amazing! we even get reception (although it is a little questionable) in Yosemite! We've tried Nextel, at&T (digital), Cingular, t mobile, and sprint. Verizon is the best all the way!Was this review helpful to you?
Phone shows 4 bars but incoming calls never come through. Sometimes the caller gets a message that the phone number is disconnected. And the phone itself has no low battery warning and turns itself off even with a full battery. This is the second and last time I will give Cingular a chance. A complete waste of several hundred dollars. Was this review helpful to you?
Always great service with Verizon... Fair amount of dropped calls, but that is with any provider. Previously had Sprint and was okay with their service (excluding customer service), but it was almost shocking when I switched to Verizon... There are very few places that I no reception at.Was this review helpful to you?
Cingularly bad, as they say. Used to be dropped calls was the norm, now just can't get a signal. I might wish this service on my worst enemy...Was this review helpful to you?
Have to go outside to make calls. Always getting call failed if I am in house, we have 4 different model cell phones all with Cingular and they all get terrible reception and dropped callsWas this review helpful to you?
Nextel has been great for me and connections are 5 stars. I travel all over my state and never have a problem connecting. Unless am in the dessert! Was this review helpful to you?
