T-Mobile

I am actually a Cingular subscriber that left a comment months ago (look below) about the poor reception in this area. Well, its because Cingular had me on the old AT&T network, which is TERRIBLE in this area. Do NOT sign up with Cingular in this area, because they put all new subscribers on the old AT&T network. It took months but I got them to switch me to roam on T-Mobile's network (which is the old Cingular network) and my reception is stellar. As soon as the switch was made, I got four-five bars and no more crossed calls. I will be switching to T-Mobile when my contract is up :)

Awesome reception--- all over cerritos! weve tried them all (and weve paid to cancel them all too) and Verizon by far is the best--- 5 stars everywhere around the house + all over cerritos and most of the places we travel! how amazing! we even get reception (although it is a little questionable) in Yosemite! We've tried Nextel, at&T (digital), Cingular, t mobile, and sprint. Verizon is the best all the way!

Bottom floor is impossible to use cell phone. Upper floor, very minimal. Cell phone service in the US is a joke. I've been to third world countries where cell phone works even inside tunnels. VERIZON, Can You Hear Me NOW?

Phone shows 4 bars but incoming calls never come through. Sometimes the caller gets a message that the phone number is disconnected. And the phone itself has no low battery warning and turns itself off even with a full battery. This is the second and last time I will give Cingular a chance. A complete waste of several hundred dollars.

Always great service with Verizon... Fair amount of dropped calls, but that is with any provider. Previously had Sprint and was okay with their service (excluding customer service), but it was almost shocking when I switched to Verizon... There are very few places that I no reception at.

On an average, I get 1, maybe 2 bars of reception... if I'm lucky... .

Cingularly bad, as they say. Used to be dropped calls was the norm, now just can't get a signal. I might wish this service on my worst enemy...

Have to go outside to make calls. Always getting call failed if I am in house, we have 4 different model cell phones all with Cingular and they all get terrible reception and dropped calls

Must be on second story to get OK reception, which means an occasional 2 or 3 bars (usually 1)

2-3 bars in the house with antenna down. 3-4 bars with antenna up, both inside and out. Sprint coverage is much stronger in LA County, especially Long Beach. If you get Sprint, make sure you get a Sanyo phone. They have much better reception than a POS Samsung, and they're built better. Also Sanyo is what the Sprint employees use. If you like to travel to Europe, then don't even bother with Sprint, or Verizon. They both use CDMA and do not utilize SIM cards, so you can't change your Sprint phone with a SIM card because it's hard wired into the phone. Europe uses GSM, so your Sprint / Verizon phones will not be compatible...
