T-Mobile
Ended up leaving T-Mobile because after 6 months of being told that things are improving, yet we did not experience it, and that it would start changing in 12-18 months with the Sprint Merger, sorry, but another year after 6 months of no service was not acceptable, especially with only being able to use service on WiFi. We moved to AT&T, and with the discounts and veterans discounts, it costs about the same amount, even with Netflix, and we can actually make phone calls now and use the data, both in the Southern California area and when we travel into Mexico. I cannot recommend T-Mobile in this area.

at home it has no signal at all.. And around, it is just 1 bar or 2 I had switch to ATT from TMobile after 8 years. ATT at least has 1 or 2 bar signal at home so I can get my calls.. It is terrible that year is almost 2020, but we are still talking about the "signal rate" what a shame!

I have three cell towers that I can see from my home; Mt. Miguel, Lyons Peak and Otay Mountain, yet my problem is the same as the other commenters from Eastern Chula Vista. If, as Verizon alleges, the problem is from a Mexican carrier interfering with their signal, then we're done for unless Verizon pays more "mordida" to Mexican govt. officials than their Mexican competitor. What Verizon needs to do, absent paying bribes to Mexican officials, is quit buying up other companies and concentrate on upgrading the service they already provide. Surely there is someone inn the Verizon engineering dept that can come up with a fix for the problem, even if it means jamming the signal coming out of Mexico.

Get reception for about 10 seconds and then nothing until phone rebooted, then 10 seconds again. Been told over the last few months this will improve, but then in Mexico get phone turned off and told it is only slowed because half the data has to be used in the USA, and WiFi doesn’t count. Having to fight with a carrier says to me to go away.

This area is notorious for low to spotty reception. Currently have none with AT&T’s cellular service

If you work in Balboa Hospital forget about T-mobile, you’d have to connect to the WiFi and that sometimes works! called T-Mobile few times and they said “we have good coverage there you shouldn’t have problem, oh maybe you should restart your phone!” Ok thanks! Anyway, if you gonna be working in that place, stay away from T-Mobile

Used to be the best, not just horrible. No internet, dropped calls, etc. They are blaming a new cell service in Mexico. Customer service will just tell you a ticket is open but there is nothing they can do. The agent I spoke with sounded like she could care less. So pissed I am stuck with Verizon now.

I have been with Verizon for 20 years and undoubtedly they USED to have the best service and I pay a premium for that. However, in the last few weeks staying connected to mobile data has been a nightmare. 1x, 3G and even in 4G still does not work. Always need to be connected to some type of Wifi to get service. I called Verizon to find out what's going on and was told by the tech department who submitted a ticket, that a carrier in Mexico just launched service on the same spectrum as Verizon and has caused Verizon customers on the USA side to experience slow or no service due to the proximity of the border. The rep claimed they are aware of the problem and are trying to find a resolution with the carrier in Mexico and the FCC but could not tell me what they were doing about it. If I want crappy service I may as well switch over to another carrier and save a few bucks while I'm at it.

We've never had issues with Verizon and we have been with them 16 years. but the past year, then months now weeks and more recently the past 4 days in Chula Vista, calls constantly dropped or don't even get through. when you try and answer a call, it immediately goes to missed. Status bar constantly says, "Searching for network". 1x change to 3G bad service changing company soon...
