4G is very spotting and usually switches to 3G which is also spotty at my home. Even when connected to 4G with full bars in areas with good reception, the connection feels very slow, has trouble streaming YouTube videos. As for Sprint's customer service, HORRIBLE! Employees in their stores (and I've been to multiple different ones) are all rude and complete idiots. They know nothing about the devices, nothing about fixing issues, and don't really care to be bothered to help. Bad connection quality and even worse customer service is making me move from Sprint to another carrier. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!

Overall, good reception and rare dropped calls. This wasn't the case a few years ago, but coverage has improved.

When is Sprint going to put 4g LTE all over San diego. It's a very hit and miss Where is it in north park. Hillcrest and mission valley areas. I get 3G only. Please Sprint get with it. This service sucks

T-Mobile

4 Out of 5 (4 stars) | College and University, San Diego, CA 92115 |

My reception is very good at home, and most of the places I spend my time in. LTE speeds are easily above 10 Mbps, hitting up to 30. I haven't seen Wideband LTE anywhere in SD yet.

For a place that's literally down the street from a T-Mobile corporate store, you would think that we would get better reception. Some time when I'm lucky I'll get 1 bar but 90% of the time, it's below two bars. LTE, 4G, 3G, hell I don't even get 2G. I've been a customer of T-Mobile for about 10years now but since we've moved into this house 5yrs ago, the reception went from okay to none at all. Even with the cellspot, it's spotty. Some time it'll work but that's rare as hell. I'm forced to use iPhones for iMessage because of this.

Verizon

2 Out of 5 (2 stars) | Lemon Ave., Lemon Grove, CA 91945 |

There was a time Verizon signal strength was good but it has gotten weaker for me, even in many other county locations. I heard Cox and Verizon were going to join up. Just got rid of Cox, setting up with AT &T since the signal strength is about the same but a much better plan and even cheaper. Verizon wants me to sign up with an iphone6 contract to make my problems go away, yes I have multiple problems with Verizon such as messages and voice mail. Yeah sure, you betcha! Had these problems for last 2 years even replaced phone but same issues. We'll see with AT&T

No 4g lte. Very poor voice reception too, nearly 100% dropped calls. Reception was better a couple of years ago.

T-Mobile

4 Out of 5 (4 stars) | Scripps Ranch Bordering Poway | Near Water Tower on Spring Canyon @ Pomerado Rd., San Diego, CA 92131 |

Live in Scripps Ranch and I work in Poway. The only dropped calls I've ever had have been out in the country or in the mountains. Data speeds on T-Mobile LTE are super FAST! I've seen 30+Mbps downloads and uploads are routinely 20+ Mbps. Beats the crap out of Time Warner / Road Runner. Also, T-Mobile gives me the ability to have a wi-fi hotspot with no extra charge. Streams music without a hit to your data plan and gives me free texts and unlimited calls for $50 a month. Unlimited data even after you go over the 1 gig a month plan that I pay for. It's just much slower after that. Really happy with T-Mobile, and no, I don't work for them.

I just moved to the Granite Hills area from Fletcher Hills in El Cajon. The coverage here for AT&T is terrible! Maybe it's time to change...

Sprint

1 Out of 5 (1 star) | Near University of San Diego Entrance | Linda Vista Rd., San Diego, CA 92110 |

I can only get a faint signal within my apartment in the middle of Carmel Pacific Apartments. If you move away from the windows, then the call is dropped. Friends report that Verizon get good reception in the apartment, but Sprint and AT&T have terrible reception.
