Verizon
I get dropped calls while on the Freeway near Los Coches and I get dropped calls and no service at home. Verizon has told me for two years that they are working on imporoving the service (or should I say "NO SERVICE". I have seen no improvement, only an increase in the cost and frustration when the phone doesn't work. My friends now say, " move 2" and call me back. I can see why Verizon has stopped avertising "Can you hear me now?"

Very spotty reception in Tierrasanta. Calls frequently dropped. Going toward Clairemont Mesa (North) seems to improve signal somewhat

I can hardly talk on my cell phone at 7220 Trade St., San Diego, CA. I use Cingular which sucks.

I get dropped calls while on the Freeway near Los Coches and I get dropped calls and no service at home. I need to leave my phone on the counter to talk and to receive calls. I'm truly bitter with Verizon here and were I lived before, Thousand Oaks, Ca. I miss At&t. It was so good to me. Cingular did not hold the bar with there service.

Poor reception at my house, which is just one house below the peak of a hill. If I walk one house up to the top of the hill, I'll get several bars of reception. My friends have had better luck with Verizon at my house, which while weak, still has reception.

Very bad reception at my house in the canyon. Bummer I can't often use my own cell phone at home.

2-3 bars usually. Better in outdoors than in houses.

Only 1 bar (sometimes 0 bars) of reception in my building. When I am fortunate enough to have a call go through, it is almost always guaranteed to be dropped. Verizon claims there is a tower less than 50 yards away and can't explain the lack of reception (they say it is probably a 'line of sight' issue but can't be certain). All of my friends with Verizon have the same problem in the building (which leads me to believe its not my handset). Interestingly Cingular customers get great service in this area... .go figure!

Can make a call without dropping only by standing in the middle of the street. Doesn't work at all in the house. My Sprint phone is slightly better. The consensus on the block is that Verizon is the only carrier that works acceptably.
