T-Mobile

My girlfriend talked me into going with T-Mobile on her plan, which we now call T-Imaginary, because if it rains or there is a lot of wind, T-Imaginary doesn't work and rarely works when the sun is shining. When we complained about our spotty service, the manager at the Balboa T-Mobile office near Genessee talked us into getting a landline with unlimited long distance for when our T-Mobile cell phones have no service. We signed a 2-year contract and the land line never ever worked. We'd go into the Balboa Office and they'd tell us to call their customer service. We'd call customer service and they'd tell us to go into the store. This went on for 2 years and we paid our bill for the non-working land line every month for 2 years. When we moved T-Mobile charged a $200 disconnect fee for the land line that had never worked and the asst store manager later told me that a lot of people had the same problem because of a bad coding sequence in our area. The store manager referred our case to the VP in charge of So Cal and he said that we should have called customer service, which we did and they referred us to the store every time we'd called. We'd go into the store and they'd again refer us to the customer service 800 line, who would refer us right back to the Balboa office. We did have AT&T come out and verify our lines were working, when T-Mobile said that this must be our problem. We ended going with AT&T, while still paying for T-mobiles non-working service, so the land lines definitely worked. T-Mobile was happy to bill us for these two years, because we'd signed their 2-year contract, but never actually got phone service from T-Mobile. T-Mobile uses the store-customer service back to store service run around game to keep from ever having to do any price adjustments or getting your service to actually work. T-Mobile is the most dishonest company in America, and has the worst reception and customer service in San Diego or any where on the east coast or southern US (that we have visited). Horrible! Not even deserving of 1 star! Straight Talk with Verizon, Sprint and Cricket are all better than T-Mobile :(

Constant disconnected phone calls. Extender sent by Verizon to improve service. NOPE! New phone LG G2 sent to replace one I had. NO CHANGE! Need to pay for another phone such as LG G4 to try out is what Verizon said. Why should I? LG G2 has been recalled for a number of issues. So... .on to another carrier and phone. Will approach Sprint today to see what offers they have. I think if any problems with a phone persist, a different phone of comparable quality should be offered free of charge by a company. Especially when a phone has been recalled!

I have T-Mobile, originally from Wal-Mart. Bought an"older" model Samsung outright for $299. Works fine. Never had trouble with service. Originally paid $30 per month with limited voice. Upgraded to $40 for more voice. One of the cheaper carriers. Never had problems. Pretty happy with what I've got-- but I'm not a heavy user.

I used to have the old Cricket cell service which was good on Naval Base San Diego (NBSD), but was forced to upgrade to 4G service after AT&T bought out Cricket. Ever since then, service is extremely poor. 1-2 or NO bars while at Budwiser Brew House (Rec Center) in front of pier 2. Even with wifi, service is terrible. Every call gets dropped. Or never connects. I have a LG phone, which works excellent anywhere else in San Diego and Los Angeles Area. I used to get service while in Tijuana, 2-3 miles across the border, including La Playas (beach area) and Otay Tijuana side... but since switching to cricket 4G, I lost all mexico service, which I used to use my cell while inside mexico with no additional charge. Now, I have to go to a café in mexico everytime I want to make a call using LINE or WHATSAPP, but no longer can make normal calls using my cell connection.. I have to use WIFI. But biggest complaint is not having service while on 32nd St. Naval Base. while playing pool, eating, or using the computers at the Base REC Center...

I live in the densely populated Pacific Beach, where you imagine service should be excellent. I get 1 bar normally, 2 on a good day, 3 on the very rare occasion. My direct neighbors have T-Mobile and get at least 20 faster 4g (according to Speedtest, I get ~2MB / s, they get up to 80MB / s or so). Ditch it.

Base of Cowles mountain. I can find only one antenna serving my neighborhood, from 1 to 3 bars as the wind blows it seems. I've complained for years, and its never gotten any better. friends with AT&T get even worse reception.

I have AT&T for two years now and I have never had a problem with them as far as reciption goes. I had an iPhone 5s and now a iPhone 6 Plus and the coverage is excellent on both devices. The download and uploads speeds are extermely fast. I always have LTE coverage at home with 4-5 bars at all times. I use to have Verizon and when I did in this area. My calls would drop and sometimes my text messages would fail and not send. Some of the time in this area when I had Verizon my text messages would come in delayed because of the recpition. Switching to AT&T was honestly the best choice and I strongly recomend it if you live in the clairemont mesa / balboa avenue area just because it is reliable and you would have the best service 24 / 7.
