Nextel

Nextel service sucks! I allway drop calls no matter where I am, usually there are 1 to 3 bars but iI still lose calls. Not very good for business use.

Very bad reception with many dropped calls from Grossmont HS. Also poor nearby, including the Arco Station near Murry Dr. and Water St. and Across Interstate 8 at Grossmont Blvd. and Shawdow Dr.

Bars jump from 1 to 5, depending on where you stand. Makes no sense. Agravating when trying to have a conversation.

Sprint is crap in this area. No reception inside buildings.

Used to be fine, but Cingular reception has been getting worse and worse over the past few months; calls between wife and I frequently dropped, even with 4 or 5 bars. Reception spotty and inconsistent in La Mesa thru Mission Valley and into Downtown (I work on 4th floor, next to a window); often difficult to impossible to carry on a conversation. We both have current phones (hers a Motorola). Have made multiple calls to Cingular cust. serv. over the past few months for reception and voice mail issues, but they always tell me it must be a phone problem. After upgrading to the newest SIM card they then told me my phone had a known problem with that SIM card and they had to revert back to the older card (then why did they issue the new SIM card with my phone, if it was a known problem?). Am about ready to dump Cingular and their worsening reception and inept customer service (for failing to resolve the technical issues) for another carrier.

3 to 4 bars always. Great reception copared to VeriZon and T-Mobile friends that come over. Those guys get reception outside and none in the house. Cingular best in this area.

My phone always says "Searching" and many of my calls are dropped. What happened to "Smallest amount of Dropped Calls". Ironic

Never drop calls, but getting service set up was a pain when I switched over from Cingular. It was PAINFUL dealing with T-Mobile customer service - they were nice but incompetent. Took a week for the switch to go through and that was after 4 hours worth of calls to customer service. Since then (it's been a year) I haven't had to call once, which is nice.

I have to constantly move around in my apartment to get reception. If I go outside reception improves but I still get a lot of dropped calls.
