T-Mobile has great reception even in my 5 floor apartment building. I hardly even have calls dropped.

I live in the UTC area, in an appartment complex called Pines of La Jolla. My appartment is on the first floor of a 3-story building. I never had any reception from there! Sometimes my phone rings but if I take the call, I immediately lose the connection. This is really a problem for me because my home phone is provided by Vonage (VoIP) and if my Internet connection shuts down (it happens once in a while), I can not make any call. To use my cell phone, I always have to get out the apartment and walk towards the street to get a signal. Also, I work near the UTC mall and from there I get perfect signal. I thought it was because of my phone but it was the same with my old Nokia and my wife doesn't get reception either with her Sony Ericsson. She is on Cingular as well. The funny thing is that a friend of mine, who has a AT&T plan, gets perfect reception when he comes over.

I get full reception any time and anywhere. I love T-mobile. I can't get over how great their reception is!

So I have had Sprint PCS for almost 6 years now and have had very little to complain about int the reception dept. When compaired to the other carriers out there I love the service. I get reception almost everywhere I have evr visited. which includes, NYC, KC MO/KS, San Fran, San Antonio, TX, Rhode Island, Connecticut, State College PA, Oahu, HI, New Orleans, LA, El paso, TX, LA CA, Las Vegas, NV, Miami, FL are just a few of the places that I have visited. As you can see I have been all over this country. The only complaint that I have with Sprint is that they do not offer many phones that can be connected to a handsfree car kit. Which in CA is a very big deal. There are a few dead spots in San Diego that I know of that I cross daily, but that is the same with all of the carriers in this town.

Tried Cingular and Sprint, and could get no reception at all in our townhouse near UCSD, on any floor. Had to go out to the sidewalk to pick up an undependable signal (fluctuating 1-3 bars). Switched to Verizon and can get some reception upstairs (none downstairs), but still weak (1-2) bars and some dropped calls. No reception at all downstairs. Got a family plan with a phone for me, my son and for my stepmother, who lives in Santa Monica. She gets no reception at all on any phone inside her house (tried Sprint, AT&T, Cingular, T-Mobile, Verizon and Trakfone) - has to go out to the driveway to use her phone. Not very convenient!

Just moved from Hillcrest to South Park and get terrible reception in the new location. I need to get out of my Sprint contract ASAP.

T-Mobile has done me good. I never drop a call and the quality of my calls are all excellent. As a matter of fact I have never dropped a call anywhere I go in San Diego. I even work in an old building made of thick concrete and I still get all the bars on my phone. T-Mobile is the best in my humble opinion for reception in my area.

Poor-to-no reception within my apartment. I have to take long walks outside to talk to someone. The exercise does help my frustration though.

After trying Cingular and Nextel in the past (unsuccessfully), Verizon is the only service that actually works in my house and in the surrounding neighborhood (Normal Heights) without dropping calls.
