Verizon

I've had a Samsung phone for 2 years. I've gotten great reception in my home, at my jobs in OC and LA County. Now that my phone is a little older, I've found that I'm not able to surf the Internet and update social media reliably. Sometimes, I just get the spinning wheel of death.

I have great reception at HOME because I "qualified" and purchased at a reduced price a 4G LTE Network Extender (NE). I received 50% off the Extender, as Verizon acknowledged that this area has problems. Some providers call these Signal Boosters. It's like having a cell tower in my backyard. I get full bars now when I am at home. Since I've added the NE, I have had next to zero dropped or missed calls on my smartphone while at home. The NE connects to my Wi-Fi at home and "extends" the network as it says. It wasn't too hard to set up. However, I will add that there was a little confusion on the Customer Services part until they got me to the right person. Once up and running the reception at home is fantastic! Depending on your carrier, be sure to check the options for an NE, as they all have either a specific plan, requirements or pricing on their own NE's. Changing carriers in this location will not resolve weak signal issues, for the most part, when you out and about. That's why I rated my reception as good for Verizon. It depends on how good of a signal you get depending on where your provider's tower is. South OC reception is sporadic depending on where you are. Consider the NE, and I'm sure, while at home anyway, you will get a dramatic improvement in your reception.

We always had good service from Verizon until a month or two ago when the service dropped to 1 bar at best. Dropped calls, poor reception... it just sucks😡😡😡.. might have to switch carriers soon as we can't work from home anymore.

Frequent dropped calls or the phone does not ring at all, yet, I get a VM. The Nextdoor neighbor website has a multitude of people in this area who have Verizon and are unhappy. Doubt Verizon will do anything about it. Maybe they should offer free boosters for their customers in areas that they don't offer good reception.

Have tried ATT and Verizon prior to Sprint. Verizon didn't work for us at all and I would give it 1-star based on the scale. ATT would get 2. So far no problems with Sprint. We have a booster installed from the Verizon days.

T-mobile data speed inside our house during daytime hours is ridiculous, averaging only 200kbps (this is only 0.2mbps, when you need at least 2mbps to stream video, etc). This poor service has not improved despite installing the "LTE home cell-tower". At night after 10pm, the service improves to 1mbps, which is still poor. So it looks like we'll have to go with Verizon in order to get what we pay for.

It's always been a bit spotty inside my house but in the past week, I have to walk down the street to have a cell phone conversation. What's changed? I'm on chat with Verizon customer service now (via Facebook) and it's looking like I'm not going to get any answers. Just sh*tty reception with no explanation in sight. Is it time for TMobile perhaps?

This is unbelievable. I'm staying at Staybridge Suites and are unable to receive or make calls. With luck one bar will show, but not enough for a conversation. And I need to take care of business.

3 different phones in apartment and reception is awful. Drops calls, cannot hear other party, had to buy land line phone just to make and receive calls. Even using WiFi calling, it sucks. Going to call Sprint and ask how they can improve it, without spending more. I already spend @ $300 per month for this sucky service.
