T-Mobile
I have been a tolerant T-Mobile customer for 2.1 / 2 years. I have a great plan, but only get 1 / 2 my calls, and have to keep accessing my voice mail because of it. I get 2 bars reception at Home (Shaw and Maroa 93704) and almost NO reception at work (Willow and North 93725) I see about a 20% drop call rate at Home and about 80% at Work, and I have seen no improvement in 2.1 / 2 yrs. BTW this has really kept my minutes down. lol. Other than that it seems to work good around town (Fresno). I am looking to switch to a more reliable carrier (probably Verizon). Probably a bit more expensive, but if it means I get to use my phone as a phone again (instead of a pager with voice mail) it will be worth it.

I have been an AT&T customer since 2002. At that time, it was TDMA which I believe it was way better than the GSM currently run by Cingular. Since then, I have had more dropped calls and my conversation seem to break up a lot more. The only reason why I stay with AT&T is the mobile to mobile and rollover minutes which really help a lot on my minutes usage. But, overall the reception is not as good as before. I tried T-Mobile for about two days, but it there is no service in the foothills. I have heard nothing but good things about Verizon when it comes to call quality, but you get the least amount of minutes for the money.

Only so so in my house, but great everywhere else. Like another said, about once a week I don't hear ringing, but when I call back the caller said it rang but no one there. Had Cingular for a month and it was HORRIBLE. Every call sounded bad.

Ive had Verizon for about 5 years, heard from some that AT&T was good, so I switched and it was the worst 2 years of phone service I have ever had. I went back to Verizon and I will never switch again. Service is great everywhere.

I have been with Sprint since I was in Indiana. When I moved in to Fresno, I didn't think I will have a good reception based on what people said. However, I found that I got one of the best reception in the area. I went to yosemite and got a good reception, while my friends on the other network got nothing. I bought my "new" sanyo camera phone in 2004 when I renewed my contract and with the new phone, the reception is even better. I have minimal drop calls over the years. When I drive on major highway (99, 5, etc) I don't have problem with reception either, except in some blank spots where other carriers have problem too.

I can never get through a whole phone call where I can hear all the words the person I am talking to says. It cuts out a lot. I am always saying "What? Can you repeat that?"

Since I had to upgrade my SIM card to the new 64K Smartchip, my reception has been worse. No signal in outlying areas, where it used to be fine. Often now calls have a lot of static as well.
