I'm from sacramento and I come to fresno often. Sometime I get very good signal and some time I get 0 to 2 bars. I don't think its my phone, I think it have to do with the cell tower shutting down inthis area, because some days I get full bars and 4g network. Overall, T-Mobile is a good provider..

Sprint

For the past two weeks I have struggled to maintain internet and data connectivity on my phone which runs on the Sprint network. I get spotty, intermittent, and sometimes no connection. Have reported the problem to Sprint, and have even received a replacement phone. Yet the problem continues. At this point I am pretty much paying for a service that does not seem to exist. At my wits ends as to what I can do.

I have Virgin Mobile which runs on Sprint. I've had them for about 3-4 years now. The signal is strong everywhere in Fresno. My only complaint is that the 3G on my iphone didn't work for like 2 weeks and customer service doesn't know what to do besides read off their "list." I've never had a dropped call besides when talking to customer service (I think they hung up on me).

Verizon

Switched from Sprint, which was sufficient for voice / text, but data was painfully slow at times. On Verizon, my bill is OUTRAGEOUS, but data.is fast and have had no real service related issues, recently. 4G coverage around town is fairly solid. 3G is plentiful and fast enough. I'll manually set my phone to 3G to conserve battery. Have traveled as far north as Stockton and as far south as LA Area and service has been consistent and reliable. I'm in plain sight of a tower and downloads of 30Mbps aren't uncommon. :)

Had an iPhone 4 hand me down and I have weak signal and dropped calls in fresno where I am visiting my mom. Using T-Mobile for years now, this never happened til now. Can I signal a relay tower or satilite to improve signal?

Reception is terrible all around! I have to turn off my 3G when I'm not using my phone so my battery won't run out from my phone trying really hard to pick up signal. With only one tower in Fresno, Sprint needs to step it up and build a couple more in this town! Not to mention the total absence of 4G!

Sad to say that reception continues to get worse. I noticed the other reviews were quite old so thought I should chime in. "call dismissed" notice shows up on my phone frequently after a call is dropped. Many callers want me to try them back later when I can get a better signal. This is getting progressively worse. Talked to tech support, they said they found an issue with the switch I was connecting to. I guess it cannot be repaired as nothing is better 6 weeks later.

With AT&T, there is a cell phone tower literally right next to me, so I always get good clarity.

Will never loose my landline. When at home, every call drops after 30 seconds. Have a tower less than 300 yards away, trying to find who the carrier is. I even lose calls standing outside in central Fresno.

I am with Virgin Mobie which uses Sprints network. Virgin Mobile is a month to month no-contract service provider with decent to high-end android phones and even the iPhone with the cheapest monthly plans as low as $30 / mo. As far as service goes I have not had a problem with dropped calls using Spints 3g service throughout my area and all of the California area while traveling, while making phone calls, and using the Google maps GPS. Note: Boost Mobile no contract phones also uses Sprints network with unlimited everything for $40 / mo after shrinkage.

Ive never had problems with this service only at my mother-in-laws house. For some reason my phone hates her kitchen. Every well else works fine in the house. I was going to get the HTC Amaze but it ended up being a recall phone. For not Sensation is great plus with the new ICS ROM 4.0 its even better!

I do not have a contract phone but a non-contract Blackberry Curve that I purchased brand new from T_Mobile. I pay an arm and a leg for a terrible phone and service. The phone doesn't ring 90% of the time. It was a lemon from the start. I get decent reception while driving or outside in certain areas. Inside my home I get 1 bar and it's hard to hear because calls cut in and out. Frustrating to say the least. Will be switching to another company with a contract and better customer service.

LOVE MY MYTOUCH 4G! Look around for other phone services and havent been happier here in the Valley then with T-Mobile. The phone provides Mobile Network and what this does is allows you to use other towers if needed. Comes with build in Portable Wi Fi that you can connect up to 3 devices. Cricket is another good service but only with the Ascend II. Its like having a MyTouch 3g.

I was with T-Mobile for about 5 years now. Moved all over Fresno with almost zero reception issues. The only issue I had with reception was at my in-laws home near Chestnut / Dakota by the airport. Not sure if the airport has anything to do with it but just over the past few months, the reception and 4G access is great now. No complaints aside from TMobiles customer service / business practices. Buy a phone for $250, 7 days later they have a promo on the same phone for FREE. BS. Wouldn't refund me or let me return the phones despite the 15 day return period. Lets just say I am no longer a TMobile customer.

just come over from virgin mobile, with the intention that I was going to get better reception. however I had better reception with the virgin phone that with the upgraded samsung. not impressed with service. I went to AT&T tech support and they told me that I have a lose internal antenna, but my niece has a latest Samsung and her reception is terrible always fluctuating. I think i'm going back to verizon.

I live in the Sunnyside Ranch area and it has little to no reception for T Mobile. Don't bother if you live in this part of town only get reception at shopping centers.

I lose reception at work at the time(Herndon / Temperance). I can only get 1 bar. At home it cvaries depending on which room I'm standing in. I can get 5 bars in the living room, but if I move to a bedroom or other part of the house, it drops to 1 or none. I gotr better reception with myy old sytle bar phone, than these new fangled 3G flip phones. They should of left a working device alone instead of trying to re-invent the wheel.

The reception is horrible.. I called AT&T from my cell phone and they couldn't hear but then called me back and had the nerve to tell me that in order for my phone to work it has to have 2 bars. my phone NEVER has 2 bars! And they said that my phone shows and strong singal and so do the towers in my area!! I purchased a brand new iphone and returned it because it always read no service. Bought a HTC and I absoultey love the phone but the reception sucks! Sad tht i'm going to have to return it. :( err i'm switching to Verizon and hoping for the best.

I reside just south of this location and I can not keep a call on line for more than a minute. Drops calls like they are poison. Complained numerous times to AT&T and they tell me the network is fine. The next resolution is buy a new phone. This phone started this at month six and is getting worst. AT&T will not let me out of my two year contract, so I just keep chunking $125.00 in the trash every month. Customer Service, What's that?

I know its not my phone because I had several phones and I only get 2 bars inside. The 3G service isnt the best. Youtube videos on my phone always have to buffer a long time, then it will stop playing after a few seconds. My calls drop sometimes. AT&T really needs to improve their call signal and boost up the 3G speeds, even in Sacramento and Vegas was horrible. I do hear a lot of good things about Verizon.. Only thing they dont have the iPhone because there is no phone comparable to it(not even close).

I just called TMobile (Oct 31, 2010) and they told me they lost their roaming contract in here in Cambria and will let me out of my contract no problem.

So I live in Fresno, and I travel to the Pismo area with my boyfriend alot, and with cricket I get little to no reception, and may I add that I cannot get on to the internet at all. This phone is not capable of sending or receiving picture messages so some people have said it is simple to get them over an email to the phone, but with no internet this makes basiclly anything impossible, Im switching to sprint. Just a heads up for cricket.

I've had AT&T for over 8 years and my service has always been really good. I'd say at first it used to be ok, dropping calls sometimes, but now everything works without a hitch. If you have spotty reception consider getting a better quality phone with a good antennae. That seems to have been the case with some of my family member's phones.

Very reliable at 4-5 bars at all times except when at work (VA hospital get 1-2 bars in the atrium, 0-1 in the building.) Overall, very satisfied, just wish they'd run better special incentives for renewing customers.

Just moved from Bullard / Marks area (5 bars all the time) to Shaw / West and my reception is awful. Inside or outside never more than 2 bars

This is not a good area. The signal is very bad and there are lots of dropped calls in the area.
