AT&T Wireless (GSM)
New tower in area provides decent coverage for AT&T NextGen in Altamar complex. Cingular users also seize these towers; phone will say "Cingular Extend."Was this review helpful to you?
Data service unusable here. Cannot send pictures or text messages. Phone indicates "1x" network (this is verizon's CDMA 2000 service which has been declared "3G" but is more like 2.5G) active, typically showing 0 or 1 bars of signal strength. Yet, voice calls go through even at 0 bars. Signal fades entirely from time to time, dropping the phone into "power saving" mode wherein no incoming calls are received and no messages are received! Marginally better than Sprint, which is almost entirely useless around here. Was this review helpful to you?
Sprint PCS and Nextel are the only two services I'm aware of that work on this side of the community. Reception is very good from the softball field all the way west on Mission Blue. Was this review helpful to you?
Terrible reception, must stand out in the front driveway to make a call. Only time I get reception inside the house is on a clear sunny day, and at most just 1 bar. Phone to phone SMS is bad up here as well and email to SMS is completely unreliable and useless. Metro phones up here will discharge their battery supply in under 1 hour due to constantly searching for the local digital cell site. Was this review helpful to you?
AT&T Wireless (TDMA)
This phone worked fine in my house more than a year) until last week. I guess AT&T converted the TDMA tower to GSM to keep me happy - NOT!Was this review helpful to you?

No reception at all (both GSM and TDMA) with AT&T wireless up here in the Valle Mar area. It comes in as you get closer to the intersection of Reina del Mar and Hwy 1.Was this review helpful to you?
I get drop calls whenever I pass this certain part of 280 coming from Daly City just before Geneva Ave exit. Also I have another drop calls coming from 280 and exit Hwy 1 to go to Pacifica. I think that area needs some fixing by Sprint. Other than that Sprint has good service. Was this review helpful to you?
Sprint has a Dead zone on interstate 280 from Daly city just before you hit Geneva Ave. Also Sprint has a deadzone coming from 280 exiting towards Highway 1 to Pacifica. Was this review helpful to you?
Depending on traffic on 101, reception is good except rush hours. 3 bard generally. Much better than the lower parts of town, I think. Was this review helpful to you?
Cell phone reception on Cingular around Pacifica seems to be pretty good. We ocassionally will lose reception going up / down parts of Sharp Park Rd. (only in one specific area, just below the house that sits above Sharp Park Rd.), and going up / down Highway 1 right below the 35 / 1 Interchange (on the downhill side coming into Pacifica). I can't tell if the loss of signal in those areas is due to weather or other factors. Reception will be lost if you go all the way up Oddstad Rd. towards the horse ranch, though. Was this review helpful to you?
