Verizon

1 Out of 5 (1 star) | Inner Sunset, San Francisco, CA 94122 |

Verizon signal has degraded steadily since the beginning of the year. No signals during commute times when calls will shunt straight to vmail without ringing. The other day, I had NO bars and no data signal inside my place and had to step outside the building to make a call. I'm looking for another carrier because not having phone access is not acceptable. Verizon used to be far superior to ATT but it looks like they both suck.

Verizon

Within the last week have experienced Verizon black holes all throughout the panhandle. Could not call out or access internet. Not good as I carry my phone when running there.

Verizon

Always got ok service in my house until jan of 2016. Have an app that showed I was connected to a cell tower 3 blocks away. Since Jan of 2016 I am now connected to a cell tower 14 blocks away. I am assuming Verizon does not own the closest cell tower and did not renew whatever contract they had. They want me to install a "network Extender" that uses my Comcast high speed internet. Of course they want to charge me $250.00 for the device. Pure greed!

Verizon

0 Out of 5 (0 stars) | Shoreline Dr. | Willow, Alameda, CA 94501 |

My phone which works okay elsewhere in Oakland and East Bay has never worked in my ground floor apartment in Alameda since I moved in spring 2015. My tablet which is on the same plan works occassionally in the apartment.

T-Mobile

1 Out of 5 (1 star) | Battery St. | Market St., San Francisco, CA 94111 |

Works great outside, but not in the building. Can't get to usual email / apps that I wanted to go, lags when I make a phone calls and hangs up sometimes. I get massive late texts when I go outside and when I text somebody, it's either they got it late and didn't go through. Why would I spend over $100 / month for this whack reception? I need to switch carrier.

T-Mobile

4 Out of 5 (4 stars) | Ferry Building | Embarcadero / FiDi, San Francisco, CA 94111 |

Have had TMo for about 2 years now. Always have good service - way better than the AT&T service I have for my work phone and iPad. Awesome customer service as well. I've recommended TMo to several friends / colleagues who have AT&T or Sprint and all have told me what an improvement TMo has been. Also, TMo works best on Bart underground.

AT&T

2 Out of 5 (2 stars) | Beach | The Embarcadero, San Francisco, CA 94133 |

AT&T consistently disappoints. Reception rarely goes above 3 bars no matter where I am in SF or Bay Area. It is frequently at one or two bars and web sites take forever to load. It is even worse when I leave California. Prices for service are high. International plans are a joke: they cost a fortune and work only about 60 - 70% of the time.

Sprint

4 Out of 5 (4 stars) | TransAmerica Pyramid , San Francisco, CA 94104 |

I moved to SF from NYC in June on Verizon and watched in absolute horror my cell phone reception declined to levels on par with 2005 when I owned a flip phone. No 3G or 4G data especially during peak times e.g. nights, evenings, weekends, etc. 75% of calls would go directly to voicemail without me ever knowing I had a call or voicemail in the heart of downtown SF. The only positive was when I actually made a call or received a call, it was crystal clear. After six weeks of horrible customer service and excuses, I decided to port my number (after 12 years) to Sprint. Sprint rolled out the red carpet for me. Unlimited everything (talk, text, 4G data) at a lower price ($40 cheaper) and my data is stronger and faster. One down side is the call quality inside my high-rise office building is not always crystal clear but I rarely talk on the phone anyway. Outside of SF, calls and data coverage are just fine if not better than Verizon especially within the Sprint Spark coverage areas. If you are tired of Verizon's lies and deception: LEAVE. They do not care about long-time customers.
