4 Out of 5 (4 stars) | Fillmore Center, Japantown Area. | Geary Fillmore , San Francisco, CA 94115 |

I do have a pretty good reception throughout the city with the exception of the Laurel heights area as well as the Delores Park area. The data speeds however. Even with full bars is slow as hell. Unusable for streaming. 4G has been slower than 3G once was. 3G speeds, ridiculous. Mps =.0 something.

Data reception is very poor in many places in and out of8 the city. Most of the problems occur while doing something in the phone and all of the sudden the Internet just drops. It is actually a very exasperating situation that I'm having to deal with. I have been a loyal customer since 2006. Furthermore, I've been giving it the benefit of time so Sprint could get their network straight. But I can't ignore the fact that I'm paying a lot of money for a lacking and somewhat mediocre service. PD: Just now the same thing that I was complaining about happened, signal dropped for no reason and I had to resubmit this.

Almost never 3G service. Half the time I send a text message from here I get the notification that the message failed to send. I have to place phone calls through the internet because through my Verizon phone they break up too much.

I can't get data in the house at all (and sketchy voice service, but at least there is some). Outside in the park, I can't get data about 75 percent of the time. None. Not just slow, but none. On the top of the hill at 21 / Guerrero can suddenly get service. Bottom of the hill, it's gone. Which means obviously that it is not a "traffic" issue for Sprint, it is a cell tower problem. They simply don't have coverage for most of the hi-tech capital of the world. You'd think that they would at least here for PR purposes, but apparently they're so on the edge of bankruptcy that they can't even operate a modern cell phone company here.

Sprint's data is extremely slow, average download speed is 0.3MG. Signal is very weak and phone is always searching for signal and this kills the battery. I disconnected my service and paid the termination fee of $340 with a smile. Got tired of not being able to use my favorite apps like streaming music and skype due to very slow data.

I have had Sprint for 15 years. Last 2 yes have been absolutely horrendous. Data speeds terrible if you even can get it. Dropped calls or no calls regularly over last 3 months. Customer service socks always giving generic responses ie : we are working on towers in your neighborhood and sending msgs saying how they are improving service when it is actually much worse. Service is terrible from my house thru Skyline and along 280. Will be.changing companies as soon as I find one that works. Do not get Sprint

Sprint

1 Out of 5 (1 star) | Castro St. | 16th St., San Francisco, CA 94114 |

Okay cell coverage at intersection, drops completely on 16th between Castro and Market. Really crappy data, everywhere in SF. Sprint is cheap for a reason, but not worth it when you just need to pull up a map and you don't have any internet connection in the middle of a major city.

Verizon

5 Out of 5 (5 stars) | Ghirardelli, San Francisco, CA 94109 |

Verizon's reception is 100% Perfect in USA. AT&T is 2nd Place, with 49.9%. T-Mobile is 3rd Place with 14%. Sprint is last place with 0% reception.

AT&T

Reasonable outdoor reception. Poor / Very poor indoor reception. AT&T tower is on Montara peak so the steep hill west of Seville is likely weakening signal.

4 Out of 5 (4 stars) | Naples Street, Excelsior District | Excelsior and Brazil, San Francisco, CA 94112 |

Reception good inside house built with plaster and stucco, used to drop calls about a year ago but has improved since, no dropped calls. Reception bad to I like ATT also because you can talk to a real person via 611 within a minute. Reception on Diamond Heights is either really terrible or nonexistent.

My Mom, Dad, and I had AT&T, T-Mobile, and MetroPCS in the past, and while out of these AT&T offers good service, Verizon's overall package is better. Verizon doesn't drop any calls, has perfect 4G LTE coverage, and has the best customer service hands down. I know several people on Sprint that are eager to get on Verizon when their contract is up. Like I said, AT&T is good, but Verizon is better.

Verizon

5 Out of 5 (5 stars) | Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco, CA 94129 |

I travel a lot and like to visit different cities and went to Golden Gate Bridge, made calls to my Mom and tell her that I will meet her, and the Verizon reception which I have Verizon is great, perfect, outstanding, etc. Sprint, T-Mobile, MetroPCS sucks. My friend(MetroPCS) too cheap and sucks, My Dad(Sprint), Drops calls constantly, and My Dad's Colleague(T-Mobile), excessively poor reception and with Sprint. Verizon is good, but AT&T (my Mom's friend has, is too risky because they charged a lot and they are like Scammers). Verizon is Clear and reliable with 4G LTE speeds and coverage.

Constantly varying bars, no reception at all in some parts of the home and garden. Buying a microcell helped but it is also unreliable. I can watch the screen and watch the number of bars move up to 3 and down to zero when the microcell is not working

I've experienced a dramatic drop-off in coverage over the last month or so. I used to have no problems browsing or running Pandora or Rdio. Now I have to switch to 3G to use the internet at all. For me this happened very suddenly recently.

( Shakes Head ) If this is the 'New' Hot-Tech capital, then where's the reception? I walk a few feet in any one direction and I'm S.O.L. I need a new phone ( two yrs old this one is ) and I'm researching if any of the carriers are worth a damn... I'm on Metro right now cos I hate Hostage Contracts and I hate paying money for nothin'... I read all these reviews and San Francisco might as well be Jackson Mississippi... does this city even have cell towers? Do they work? 0_0

Verizon

0 Out of 5 (0 stars) | Market St.- Heart of Downtown San Francisco | 1st St., San Francisco, CA 94105 |

For the past two months I've noticed a steady decline in service: switched sim cards, switched phone, created a trouble ticket which they closed, then I had problems just getting out simple text messages and today (11-1-13) I did a master reset of my phone to see if that would make any difference. At the store they said it impacts service for 3 to 6 block radius. Do you know how many thousands of people that impacts? We're talking the heart of San Francisco. They refused to speak to me on why this was happening, who it impacts or for how long it may last because they say it's proprietary information.

Sprint is horrible. I can only talk on the phone if I'm on my porch. I can get reception if I am sitting on my couch under the front window, but if I move or try to walk even 5 feet, the call is dropped. I finaly just decided to get a landline.
