Sprint

1 Out of 5 (1 star) | Church St. | 24th St., San Francisco, CA 94114 |

3G data reception around Church and 30th as well as Church and 24th has been terrible for years. Underground in BART 3G reception is good between 16th and Mission and Glen Park. Along the Market St.corridor, however, 3G can be nonexistent if there are any crowds at all at the stations and in the trains; often I lose 3G entirely there. Call Sprint to talk about this and they say they're working on fixing it. They have been saying that for years. I'm done with them.

I've had AT&T for 15 years without issues until last year. Dropped calls and no reception at home. Have been dealing with AT&T for several months without resolution. Received micro cell free of charge. Continue with poor service. Will be switching carriers soon. There CS I poor. Will not provide credit ether.

Sprint

4 Out of 5 (4 stars) | S. Gough at Otis St., San Francisco, CA 94103 |

I have found Sprint to be the most reliable but not the fastest network. I have had both ATT and Verizon and have to be at the front of the building to make a call but Sprint works no problem throughout with 3 bars. Sprint Lacks good LTE coverage everywhere.

The cellular reception I receive in my area is okay. Sometimes I have 5 bars, sometimes I have 1. But I always have at least one. Everywhere in my house there is some sort of signal. Don't know why some people said they had bad connection.

The coverage in San Francisco is great with a few exceptions. Inside buildings with thick or concrete walls, reception greatly diminishes. The city is mostly covered with LTE and you do fall back on 4G HSPA+ which is still speedy fast.

Sprint has the worst coverage, and the worst customer service to deal with the fact that their network is sub-par. Sold as a competitor to other networks, I was deceived and wound up in a two year contract of poor service. I would not recommend Sprint to anyone.

Walking around the Lower Haight the signal is mostly weak; unable to update weather; cannot use GPS, No Data; calls are constantly dropped. I also live in the Lower Haight and I used to receive a strong signal in my apartment, now I barely have a signal. Since my contract is over I'm switching carriers. Bye Bye sprint.

I was with Sprint since late 90s, and their voice and data service has dropped to terrible in last two years. Sprint no longer provides dependable mobile phone services for San Francisco Market! The only thing dependable about Sprint that you can count on is having continuous dropped calls and non working GPS if using your phone while driving in and out of City. What's worse is that Sprint customer service, field service and Executive Office escalations will tell you they apologize, they'll research and then do nothing. If they call or email back, they have no remedy to offer... they just recite the same empty script. Sprint makes Smartphones Dumb!

Voice reception and data are horrible. 4 bars on 3G Or 4G means nothing as voice calls are dropped constantly or very choppy. Apps such as Facebook and Instagram or visibly slower than both AT&T and Verizon when compared side by side. At least twice as slow. Unlimited data means nothing with horrible reception. I'd rather have limited data that is much more reliable. I can't wait to till my contract is over! DO NOT USE SPRINT FOR YOU MOBILE PHONE SERVICE.

I do have a pretty good reception throughout the city with the exception of the Laurel heights area as well as the Delores Park area. The data speeds however. Even with full bars is slow as hell. Unusable for streaming. 4G has been slower than 3G once was. 3G speeds, ridiculous. Mps =.0 something.

Data reception is very poor in many places in and out of8 the city. Most of the problems occur while doing something in the phone and all of the sudden the Internet just drops. It is actually a very exasperating situation that I'm having to deal with. I have been a loyal customer since 2006. Furthermore, I've been giving it the benefit of time so Sprint could get their network straight. But I can't ignore the fact that I'm paying a lot of money for a lacking and somewhat mediocre service. PD: Just now the same thing that I was complaining about happened, signal dropped for no reason and I had to resubmit this.

Verizon

Almost never 3G service. Half the time I send a text message from here I get the notification that the message failed to send. I have to place phone calls through the internet because through my Verizon phone they break up too much.

I can't get data in the house at all (and sketchy voice service, but at least there is some). Outside in the park, I can't get data about 75 percent of the time. None. Not just slow, but none. On the top of the hill at 21 / Guerrero can suddenly get service. Bottom of the hill, it's gone. Which means obviously that it is not a "traffic" issue for Sprint, it is a cell tower problem. They simply don't have coverage for most of the hi-tech capital of the world. You'd think that they would at least here for PR purposes, but apparently they're so on the edge of bankruptcy that they can't even operate a modern cell phone company here.

Sprint's data is extremely slow, average download speed is 0.3MG. Signal is very weak and phone is always searching for signal and this kills the battery. I disconnected my service and paid the termination fee of $340 with a smile. Got tired of not being able to use my favorite apps like streaming music and skype due to very slow data.

I have had Sprint for 15 years. Last 2 yes have been absolutely horrendous. Data speeds terrible if you even can get it. Dropped calls or no calls regularly over last 3 months. Customer service socks always giving generic responses ie : we are working on towers in your neighborhood and sending msgs saying how they are improving service when it is actually much worse. Service is terrible from my house thru Skyline and along 280. Will be.changing companies as soon as I find one that works. Do not get Sprint

Sprint

Okay cell coverage at intersection, drops completely on 16th between Castro and Market. Really crappy data, everywhere in SF. Sprint is cheap for a reason, but not worth it when you just need to pull up a map and you don't have any internet connection in the middle of a major city.
