AT&T

I live in the Shelter Creek Apartments. I have to sit down at the foot of the bed by the patio doors to get 1 bar. Voice reception is terrible and 50% of the calls are dropped after a couple of minutes. Had to get an internet phone to make calls from my apartment.

Most often, there is no voice coverage in the house at all with slightly better reception out on the driveway. The neighbors can be seen standing on driveways to talk. Event then, the quality of the voice signal is so poor that we have difficulty hearing or understanding the speech. Also, many dropped calls and occassionally messages that come through as much as 24 hours later! Out on highway one it is better, but the call ALWAYS drops on Devil's Slide. We would switch carriers, but haven't found one that seems better.

I've been a loyal AT&T customer since Jesus was in short pants, but now I'm singing a different tune. I've got 1 or 2 bars in the "good" spots in my apartment. If I want to make a (somewhat clear) call I have to stand in my roommate's doorway (so much for privacy!). I'll be moving to SF in a few months and the service doesn't seem to be any better there. WTF? Now that I'm beyond my contract, I'm shopping around for a new carrier.

ATT works and has a tower with space on the property. Verizon, please buy a piece of it! My phone is useless 8 hours a day.

No reception inside with poor reception outside. May be weather dependent as is better on a sunny day.

Terrible reception both indoors and outdoors. Worst yet is that sometimes the connection is one-way, I can hear the other person, but I can't be heard on the other end. On coming back home in Sunnyvale, everything works just fine, thus precluding the possibility of my phone being the culprit.

Ranges 2 to 4 bars, but I have never had a dropped call in two years with the iPhone in this area.

Often there are no bars in or out of the house, but reception is better outside. I have never seen more than two VERY short bars in this area (Frenchman's Creek, adjacent to the fields of Nurseryman's Exchange), and I find those only by waving the phone in a figure-8 motion. Most calls longer than a minute are dropped repeatedly. My misery is compounded by AT&T's pathetically smug, incompetent, and occasionally rude customer service that keeps people like me jumping through phantom hoops trying to remember which bank refinanced my wife's home in 1979, two years before I met her--a service that also demands, repeatedly, that I produce her death certificate before they set up a family plan that requires corrections at least twice a month. I love my iPhone; I hate AT&T. The reception here rates not a D- but an F+.

Only get 1 bar in my home with my new Metro service. Was usually 3-4 bars with my old Sprint. Unlimited plan (Metro) is good but reception in the hills of Pacifica is POOR. I regret it and now it's too late to return the phone.

My wife and son have ATT. They have to move to different parts of the house to carry a conversation. I just sit at my sofa with my Sprint phone and a smug smile never losing any volume. Pisses them off. My wife is changing to Sprint.
