Sprint

Sprint has a Dead zone on interstate 280 from Daly city just before you hit Geneva Ave. Also Sprint has a deadzone coming from 280 exiting towards Highway 1 to Pacifica.

T-Mobile bad. Cingular bad. AT&T GSM bad. Verizon middle. Sprint good!

Depending on traffic on 101, reception is good except rush hours. 3 bard generally. Much better than the lower parts of town, I think.

Cell phone reception on Cingular around Pacifica seems to be pretty good. We ocassionally will lose reception going up / down parts of Sharp Park Rd. (only in one specific area, just below the house that sits above Sharp Park Rd.), and going up / down Highway 1 right below the 35 / 1 Interchange (on the downhill side coming into Pacifica). I can't tell if the loss of signal in those areas is due to weather or other factors. Reception will be lost if you go all the way up Oddstad Rd. towards the horse ranch, though.

Nextel has one to two bars in Altamar / Ridge complex. Dropped calls are common inside buildings (never walk around) but calls can be held outdoors.

No coverage at all in Altamar / Ridge complex on AT&T TDMA.

Depending on time of day and weather, reception can vary from none at all to two bars. Baseline is zero. East of power lines that bisect the mountain, baseline is two bars (can generally make and hold calls).

Nextel service sucks everywhere. From SF-SJ along Hwy 280, reception really sucks. Two-way sucks just as much.

Poor reception on Dumbarton bridge and Menlo park area near the bridge. Get more dropped calls than good calls.

Outside house, generally one bar... on street improves to 2-3. Can make calls. Inside house - forget it. Even if I manage to find a 1 bar location, I must use my bluetooth headset as moving the phone any little bit (like putting it to your ear) is guaranteed to lose the signal! Also noticed in general area (SF Bay Area between Mountain View and San Francisco), GSM reception is horrible indoors anywhere. Switching to Cingular network is sometimes better but not noticeably better.
