get a lot of dropped calls. reception is not consistent, I would get no service at least twice a day inside and outside of the house. I would lose data also. I had AT&T and never had issues indoors of my house. calling T-Mobile did not help.

The guy at the AT&T store in El Cerrito said a new tower is going up at Hopkins and Carlotta by Dec 31st so hopefully that will improve reception.

AT&T has had it's ups and downs over the years, but since mid summer totally coverage in Berkeley has been absolutely AWFUL. Lots of drops and missed calls (right to voicemail), coverage holes (e.g. Marin from Albany border pretty much all the way up the hill, also northside and above campus). Forget about any kind of real-time data, in the time it takes Google maps to load a page you can get across town. Driving from Berkeley to SFO area I expect 5 or 6 drops - at least once getting to the freeway, again on the bay bridge near YB, couple more passing by downtown SF.. another at hospital curve. It's insane. The FCC&FTC need to start probing AT&T.. that, or I wish some class-action firm would get interested in bringing a case.

I bought an iPad 3g hoping to access my favorite web radio station at work (since my employer blocks it on their network), at first I was able to access it, but after a couple of weeks there was no longer any signal. My secretary who sits across from me says she needs to find a window and wave her iphone around to try to detect a signal if she wants to make a call.

ATT in the same location with another BB was fine, no breakup - Sprint signal appears weaker in this specific spot, reception is spotty causing dropped words in conversation - Sprint is sending another phone, suspect it may be this phone - I will update if reception improves with the new phone, or leave this comment and just switch back to my previous carrier.

No AT&T reception at all at Mississippi and Mariposa where I work. AT&T is useless, a real ripoff in San Francisco.

Terrible service from AT&T. I rarely can use the phone, and rarely can I get email or use the web. This service is a rip off, they should be sued for cheating their San Francisco customers. I am going to use my Iphone as a ipod touch. I need to buy a phone from a real cell phone service.

I've had AT&T for 6+ years, never had a dropped call but sometimes poor reception inside. They added or upgraded a tower near here in the last year. Now I get 4 bars in the house, and usually 4-5 walking around the neighborhood.

It's worse when it shows you that you have full bars but then it doesn't work. Or you're on the Edge network when you should be on 3G. I've called AT&T about it and one lady just kept on insisting that this is normal... it's been like this in this area since the beginning of August when I noticed it felt like I didn't have a phone... for the lack of usage.
