I just switched to ATT / Cingular. The reception is 5 bars most of the time. Drops to 3 indoors far from windows or in the elevator. My phone has 2 bars in my basememt garage where I used to not get a signal with Verizon. Was this review helpful to you?

I've been using Metro PCS with a RAZR V3 all around berkeley for almost a year now and I've been very happy with the coverage around here. There is no need for a landline in my room because the reception here is almost always good. Every once in a while I'll miss a call from bad reception, but in general it works great outside and solid inside. Was this review helpful to you?
it takes a really long time for my virginmobile cell phone to connect a callWas this review helpful to you?
My metro phone worked great all over San Francisco. In my new home in Oakland it is useless. Going outside doesn't help, I have to walk several blocks. Sometimes a call comes through, but they always get dropped. My roommates Verizon works well so I'll try that. I used to have Cingular. It was terrible too. It worked great in new York City though. Was this review helpful to you?
I live on the 41st floor of a highrise facing the Pyramid. I get garbled reception on nearly 90% of call from anyone, whatever their location or carrier. And to make it even harder to come to terms with, T-Mobile has a sales center on the corner. They claim it's my choice of phone. Motorola phone with no identifier as to model. T-Mobile has never worked well for me living in Chicago or SF. But was great living in London. Was this review helpful to you?
I never have a problem with my reception anywhere from Ward St. to Montclair, although I have to admit that I rarely have phone calls that last longer than 2 or 3 minutes. Was this review helpful to you?
I have had cellular one, sprint, Verizon, and now Metro PCS, in this area. Cellular one is now AT and T. Bottom Line Verizon Wireless and Metro PCS have the best coverage and clear in the area. Yes Metro PCS, they both use cdma and they both share some of the same wireless lines in the bay area. Verizon first, then Metro PCS second as far as coverage. I have a Motorola v323i it has three modes, two of the modes happen to be digital and the third is analog. Analog helps in areas where digital doesn't carry a good signal. This phone by far has the best signal and most clear all over the bay area. So v323i if you have Metro PCS go with that phone. If you have Sprint go with the sanyo 8200 In the Golf Links area all the phones can be crappy. But the best two models phones in this area and other areas of Oakland, are the Motorola v323i for metro pcs, and the Sprint sanyo 8200 for sprint. Cheah! Was this review helpful to you?
