I have had Sprint for over 10 years now. About 4 months ago, my phone started dropping every call. I got so fed up with it, that I considered changing services. I called Sprint and they looked up my account. They said that they could update my telephone. I called back in a half hour and they gave me a number to call. My phone was updated and has NOT dropped a call ever since. I'm keeping my Sprint. I didn't even know that you could have your phone updated. If your phone is dropping calls, call customer service and Sprint will help you out.Was this review helpful to you?
Reception varies from day to day. Always bad though.Always drop every call too. I also hear myself talk back a lot when talking to someone.i called Cingular and they said the signal should be fine. It is not!Was this review helpful to you?
The reception on the west end of alameda is worse now than it has ever been. There are no bldgs to block signals. What is the story. Cingular needs to upgrade their signal strength badly. Was this review helpful to you?

Reception is above average outside, but call quality diminishes inside buildings in this area. Was this review helpful to you?
not great reception (could be the phone), but calls can connect and don't drop once on.Was this review helpful to you?
Never had a problem with Cingular's reception in my condo (Customer Service is another matter though... )Was this review helpful to you?
I get pretty good reception everywhere... except my home / office. Drives me nuts. I get better recption at the top of the Summit Six chair in Tahoe than at the top of Potrero Hill. I was ready to switch, but after reading some comments, hard to decide. If I worked anywhere else, I'd stick with Sprint for sure. Was this review helpful to you?
To add to the 94103 comment: These stairwells are hard handoff areas for BART / MUNI METRO stations downtown that have Sprint PCS coverage. Surface St.is Channel 100, while underground is Channel 75(?!). I suppose BART really can shut down underground wireless coverage. Got the info from my debug screen. Once your CDMA 1900 phone locks on to a consistent signal, you're good to go.Was this review helpful to you?
The top of The Hill is really bad even though phones show good signal strength. As with a previous comment "I assume this is due to very poor C / I ratio (carrier to interference). The network also fails to be able to maintain calls (properly handover) when moving from the north-facing slope of the hill to the south-facing slope and vice versa." This has been a problem for many years and I have just assumed because there is no way for proper coverage it will always be very poor. Was this review helpful to you?
