T-Mobile
Tmobile signal is poor in this part of the oakland hills. I must resort to WiFi calling at home, but then I cannot send or receive MMS messages (on Samsung Galaxy 5). I often have problems receiving multiple duplicates of SMS messages.

AT&T coverage in Kensington was bad a few years ago, improved, and dropped back to just about unacceptable a couple of months ago. This is ridiculous.

Have had TMo for about 2 years now. Always have good service - way better than the AT&T service I have for my work phone and iPad. Awesome customer service as well. I've recommended TMo to several friends / colleagues who have AT&T or Sprint and all have told me what an improvement TMo has been. Also, TMo works best on Bart underground.

The problem with Berkeley is not the carriers, they dont want to sell poor performance. The problem with Berkley Hills is that the city and its residents have been fighting the carriers for years and do not allow any new towers. From my experience Verizon is the only carrier with any type of decent coverage.

I moved to SF from NYC in June on Verizon and watched in absolute horror my cell phone reception declined to levels on par with 2005 when I owned a flip phone. No 3G or 4G data especially during peak times e.g. nights, evenings, weekends, etc. 75% of calls would go directly to voicemail without me ever knowing I had a call or voicemail in the heart of downtown SF. The only positive was when I actually made a call or received a call, it was crystal clear. After six weeks of horrible customer service and excuses, I decided to port my number (after 12 years) to Sprint. Sprint rolled out the red carpet for me. Unlimited everything (talk, text, 4G data) at a lower price ($40 cheaper) and my data is stronger and faster. One down side is the call quality inside my high-rise office building is not always crystal clear but I rarely talk on the phone anyway. Outside of SF, calls and data coverage are just fine if not better than Verizon especially within the Sprint Spark coverage areas. If you are tired of Verizon's lies and deception: LEAVE. They do not care about long-time customers.

Can't connect to the internet most of the time, Try again later? Voice line almost non-existent. It started out great, declined unbelievably over the last couple of years. AT&T, Verizon do not work here at all.

Over the last several months I've noticed a significant decline in the quality of my Verizon service. The service used to be quite good over here in the East Bay, but now it seems I'm forced to choose between 3 bad options (Sprint, Verizon, and AT&T). I had AT&T for many years and their service was okay, I switched to Verizon when AT&T started to go downhill and now it's happening again. Why is it that service never seems to improve? I don't expect perfect service 24 / 7. I simply expect my money to buy something that won't crap out on me in the middle of a business call 20% of the time!

I walk my dog down Evelyn Ave. to Brighton and back under the Bart tracks on the Greenway. I get pretty much zero service on Evelyn. The closer you are to Key Route, the more service available. But there are dead zones all along Solano. This is using 3G service. I don't know if their 4G LTE is better.
