Constantly wavering zero to three bars, with frequent dropped calls. My wife and I both have LG flip phones from Verizon and experience the same lousy signal quality throughout the Upper Rockridge and Broadway Terrace neighborhoods. The dead spots get worse as you head up the Oakland hills near the Caldecott Tunnel. Was this review helpful to you?
I switched to T-Mobile because they had excellent rate plans. Their customer service is top notch, but their service sucks! I've never had soo many dropped calls and dead zones in my life. You get what you pay for, but in this case I'd pay more for better reception. Was this review helpful to you?
Can not get any reception in my house, right in middle of block between 14th and 15th. Used to be able to get weak reception when I had AT&T. I've had it - I'm going to look for a new carrier. Was this review helpful to you?
As soon as I enter the "Bermuda Triangle" between Gilman street and University, I don't even try to answer or place calls, because I know I'll get dropped! I've gone through 3 phones with similar bad luck, so I don't think it's the phone. Was this review helpful to you?
I thought I had REALLY bad service with Sprint until I read all the other reviews of other services! Maybe I'll stick to Sprint. 95% or more of the time I have no problem making or getting calls and they sound good. It's that the dead spots are just plain weird. Within 10 feet of any BART station (above ground within 10 feet) I get no coverage or I'm on analog roam. There are also many other odd spots like that where I get nothing or analog roam and if I step 10 feet away I get full digital. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to where the spots are. There are several downtown. Also I get pretty much 0 coverage outside of cities. If I'm on the freeway at all, or in wine country anywhere, I get nothing or analog roam. I stood out in the middle of the road once to make a call from a winery. But, the phone works great in LA and Honolulu. It's strange. Customer service is pretty good. No complaints. Maybe I'll stick with Sprint. If the place I'm standing is dead at least I can walk 10 feet and get a signal! Was this review helpful to you?
Sprint sucks so much azz. I've gone thru three phones in the last year, and Sprint uses each phone change as an excuse to lock me into another 2 year contract. All the while, the reception is horrible. Any 5+ min conversation has a 50% chance of dropping the call. The voice quality is muffled and robotic-y. Avoid at all cost. I wish I had.Was this review helpful to you?
I had Sprint and in did not work in my house on the West End. I moved here and it didn't work here either. I noticed the real estate agent talking on my phone. She told me Verizon is the only one that works well in Alameda. I am very pleased with it. The only place it hasn't worked is inside Pagano's Hardware store. It also works great in big box stores like Costco. Was this review helpful to you?

Calls frequently dropped. Reception bad. Coverage varies. Some days it can be good, but there are too few of those good days. Was this review helpful to you?
