Absolutely horrible. when you get a call at least 30 percent are dropped. mystery voicemails when there wasn't a ring. All around North berkeley is generally bad the biggest problem being the dead zones which are from block to block. The all digital network needs a straight shot to a tower to work so it's not really something to brag about when there is not enough towers.

There is zero reception with AT&T along Grizzly Peak towards Orinda.

Voice service is pretty good. sometimes a little trouble connecting, but once connected no dropped calls. Data has dead spots along Telegraph, and 3G often feels a bit slower that it was with AT&T. But no more dropped calls = glad to be rid of AT&T

Many dropped calls and hardly ever any 3G coverage. It's even worse indoors.

Do not believe AT&T's "coverage" map. It's a joke; just ask anyone who lives in Albany. I'm surprised the FCC hasn't investigated them for making false claims.

If you live in Albany, do not sign up for AT&T. Cross the border from Berkeley or El Cerrito, and the signal just fades away. Last time I tried to call AT&T from my house, they told me that my reception was fine. I tried to explain that it wasn't, but my phone dropped the call. The "fix" the problem, AT&T was kind enough to sell me a $100.00 mini cell tower, but that depends on their internet connection, which is also sketchy, and even if the internet is working, the cell tower often isn't. If it wasn't for the overlapping family contracts that we have, I would drop this service in a second.

I have had AT&T cell service since 2003 and coverage at my home has always been poor to none. I can NEVER trust that I will get or stay on a call for more than a few seconds and I must move to a window facing north to even have a chance at receiving a call. AT&T recently told me that they were going to turn up a new cell tower on Redwood road on August 25th. So far no improvement in coverage.

Most calls don't go through; when they do almost always dropped.

LOL! I get the 'no net coverage' and the beautiful phone symbol with a red line through it. Voice mails are received seconds after realizing I have a missed called that went straight to voice mail. My sisters states that they try calling me and it go straight to voice mail. Or something I get magical voice mails that don't have a missed call log. My phone isn't dead, I just have no service. I was told I have a strong area signal when I complained about the issue. Yeah so strong, that when I stick my phone out the window in my bedroom I get no service. I get bounced back text messages. Frustrating because I had to take my number off my resume while I'm job hunting and must use a landline. AT&T will not change because they haven't got any complaints of missed calls in the area. My contract is almost up, I have no problem walking away, I've had them since 2005. I've canceled both my former landline and internet service with them because of their lack of wireless service. They pretty much told me that their signal is essentially comparable to a radio signal and I'm not guaranteed 100% coverage. But can I at least get 50% coverage from my strong area signal?

I used to have Verizon -- coverage was fine everywhere except in my home, which is also where I work, so basically 90% of the time I had no coverage. I complained many times but they were not able to do anything. I switched to AT&T and my problems are gone. Reception is good where I live and work (most important), but also good elsewhere. I've used my phone abroad also with no problems. My only issue now is that I want a new Droid 2 and AT&T doesn't carry them -- I'm hesitant to switch back to Verizon because it was soooo bad, so I think I might have to stick with a Blackberry. I hate it that carriers don't all carry the same phones.
