Verizons network sucks. Everytime I see one of there stupid adds I want to strangle them. Our service is so bad when I called to complain they said yes we know it is bad we have no plans to fix it and you can cancel your contract without any cancellation fees. I have tried Sprint to no avail. My next test Cingular. Why do american cell companies spends billions on BS ad campaigns and invest zero in there network. Was this review helpful to you?
No reception in the house. Usually one bar on the sidewalk. Extremely annoying - calls don't even ring my phone, just go straight to voicemail and I don't even find out I've been called until I'm driving to work. Was this review helpful to you?
Poor or no reception at home. After 2 years. Phone is basically useless here for placing calls. College Avenue, one block away, is little better. Was this review helpful to you?
I do not know what do do >> using Cingular and it is just terrible. How do they get away with saying fewest droped calls? Liars! I have to stand on my deck leaning over to get a call through and I can see all of oakland and sf. Anybody live up here have a solution? Was this review helpful to you?
I only get one bar in my apartment and calls are constantly being dropped. I get slightly better reception when I'm outside on the balcony, but then I can barely hear the person on the other end of the line. I can rarely tell when the call has been dropped because with the background noise I can't hear anything. Was this review helpful to you?
I keep hearing that Cingular has the fewest dropped calls in the bay area but I can't seem to get reception anywhere. My calls drop after only a couple minutes no matter where I am (actually, it is about 2.5 minutes). The reception goes down to zero bars, the phone / service dumps the call--then I close the phone and suddenly ALL the bars are there. But STILL when I try to make the call again about 1 / 2 the time it fails. What I want to know is: will a new phone fix this? Or am I just out of luck permanently? Was this review helpful to you?
College Ave seems to be the achilles heel of Verizon on southside. Thing is I'm stuck with Verizon, so God willing the phone I buy later today gets a bit better reception...Was this review helpful to you?
Good reception here. I'm assuming the tower at the Alameda Fire Department HQ is responsible for this. It is owned by Crown Castle International, but I belive it provides service to mostly Verizon customers. Verizon's Broadband Service works great here. Never has dropped internet service. Was this review helpful to you?

I have always have Good to Great reception just about eveyware in the Bay Area. I was'nt even aware bad reception or droped calls were a problem until I started looking into getting a new phone. The only time I have issues is when the cell phone battery gets really low. Other than that it has benn very reliable. I only wish the calling plans were as competative as some Cingular or verizine. Good: Reception, reliability, and sound quality. Bad: Cost, Freebee ring tones and wall paper. So if you want all the bells and wistles for free or a dirt cheap calling plan Nextel / Sprint is not a good choice. If you just need a phone to make phone calls than it won't let you down (as long as you remember to keep your battery charged). Was this review helpful to you?
