Poor reception, often no service, everywhere east of Arlington Ave.Was this review helpful to you?
I have used Sprint for at least 3 years. I get some dropped calls but not that often. I used to think that Sprint was not a very good carrier, but after reading all of the comments on other carriers, I think it is much better than I gave it credit for. Sprint seems to work well in SF, downtown parts of Oakland and much of East Bay. It is very poor in Oakland hills. Nothing I read in comments convinced me that any other carrier is better, or as good, in this area. I'm sticking with Sprint. Was this review helpful to you?
I love my Metro! I get good reception everywhere in Berkeley. I've dropped my phone like a dozen times. I barely ever recharge the battery, and I have unlimited minutes. Metro is a land line mabye thats why.Was this review helpful to you?
Sprint gets very poor reception in the University Village in Albany, and gets mediocre reception on campus. Was this review helpful to you?
I get great reception at home, but only a few blocks south, near the border between El Cerrito and Richond up to about Garvin, there's a huge dead spot with absolutely no reception. Was this review helpful to you?
I get terrible reception, and sometimes none at all. Many dropped calls. I have the same problem at work near Claremont Ave and Ashby. It was the same with AT&T and with my previous Nokia. Was this review helpful to you?
I used to get two or more bars on my phone when I switched from AT&T to Verizon, an improvement. After a few months, service went down. Now there are areas around the triangle of Appian, Valley View and Sobrante Ave. that are dead, and lower Appian Way and much of San Pablo Dam Rd.through El Sobrante no longer work. What happened?! Complaining hasn't helped. I was told there were "problems in the Berkeley area" months ago, and that includes El Sobrante, I guess. Was this review helpful to you?

Reception is pretty good outdoors on the northern side of the UC Berkeley campus. Few dropped calls and consistently good sound quality. Reception sometimes drops rapidly indoors, often to one bar or none. On the UC Berkeley campus for example, reception is terrible in various campus buildings like Evans, Valley Life Sciences Bldg, Pimentel, Tan Hall, and Foothill Housing, but reception is fine in various others (such as Davis Hall, Cesar Chavez, and Dwinelle). Maybe it depends on the building material? Was this review helpful to you?
