Verizon
I get great reception even in my basement. Heavy use of internet / data without problems. I travel through out the county for work and have very rarely had any issues with dropped calls or inability to access data. I rely heavly on maps in my phone and find they are always available when needed. Occasionly loose service in the Santa Cruz Mts and backroads in south Santa Clara county.

G2 and G3 have always been poor, I just got an iPhone which is G4 and that is just as bad. I returned it. I tried T-Mobile and Sprint before I went with AT&T many years back. Maybe I'll try Verizon.

Sprint
Sprint signal in south Fremont has been atrocious for last 2 months. What's up with that? Even simple text messages won't go through lately.I'm tired of seeing red triangles on the screen. Can I use that as a reason to get out of my family contract?

I have Sierra 3G / 4G. 3G gets 6 bars (100%) signal strengh but speed is slow - 1Mbs down. 4G gets 2 bars with antenna assis and window open but again only 1Mbs -> 1.5Mbs down and.20 up. Works but FAR CRY from 4Mpbs down! promised for 4G and only 2 bars. Its cold wtih window open in winter.

AT&T
Ranges between 1-5 bars, never have I not been able to call out. Typical is about 2 bars. I don't use much data on my phone, so this is acceptable to me.

we have a problem with a dead spot in our house. Had to buy something called a booster to boost the signal. My husband uses his phone as a hot spot in order to get internet, but even then it doesn't work very well. Any suggestions?

Verizon
Phone never rings unless it is held near a front window. Battery only lasts approx 2-3 hrs because it is always "hunting". Phone is basically useless when I am at home!

Verizon
Hmmm.. Ive had perfect reception all over Fremont and from inside my wooden house.. There was a drop area on 92 bridge but thats when its changing towers I think. All in all I get perfect reception all over the bay area. Verizon is quite good except for the expensive price. Again I dont live in a concrete building so I cant speak to that

Verizon
Good reception but rarely LTE! You should really include what KIND of reception. Yes, I have NEVER have a problem making a call on Verizon in Silicon Valley areas I've been in (many)... BUT, unlike AT&T where I could surf and call at the same time, here I can do only one or the other. It truly sucks. I miss AT&T. Now I have to tell the person I am talking to that I need to call them back because I want to surf the web, get map directions, send an email, or send them a pic I just took. What a disappointment!

AT&T
Almost never had more than 1-2 bars at my place near Arastradero Rd.and El Camino. I went to them a changed the SIM card and still didn't make a difference. Never finished a phone call at my place without it getting dropped. I didn't even have full reception at AT&T store in Page Mill and El Camino. I ended up returning my phone and plan within the first month and switched to T-Mobile.

Since the new ATT cell tower went in, ATT reception has gone from pathetic, to fantastic.

We got the microcell at home but even with it, calls tend to drop and signal fluctuates. Once we leave the house, the signal drops to 1 to 2 bars and remains that way throughout most of Palo Alto.

I used Verizon years ago: nothing special, but very expensive. Tried AT&T: spotty coverage, if at all. Tried T-mobile: it won't work in half of my house (like AT&T) so missed and dropped calls are frequent. I just tried Boost (Sprint piggyback): 3G / 4G comes and goes, Wifi is fine but can't make solid phone calls-might as well be in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. I can't hold a conversation with the store where I bought it, 6 blocks away. Is there any service that can handle this area without paying an arm and a leg. Texting? I don't know, but it took me a week to get an email from the East Bay via an iphone. Yes, I make and take phone calls, text rarely and email often... if I ever find a affordable and decent service for this black hole of an area. Until then, I make calls outside and use my CPU for business. I'm not keeping Boost, that's for sure.

AT&T
I can hear people well, they cannot hear me. I have either 1 or 2 bars. A couple of years ago I used to have a great reception, obviously something changed. I contacted AT&T back in September and they told me that they were aware of a tower issue and they were working on it. No improvement so, I tried them again today, and now they want me to spend $20 per month plus the cost of the Microcell to fix the problem. Sounds like a great business to be in :)

Sprint
Dropped calls many times per day. Sometimes goes to roaming. Other times no service at all. I have an Airave that is supposed to insure I have service in our home. Without the Airave there is only roaming or no service. On Plymouth at S. Bernardo there is no service. I would like to switch from Sprint but I am not sure there are any dependable phone carriers in this location.

In my own home I can hardly ever get service! Calls won't go through or get dropped. When I'm talking to people, they can only hear about 1 in five words and vice versa! The Internet connection is beyond horrible!

Always have 5 bars reception. Never had a problem with reception anywhere I go so far. I've been using ATT for more than four years now, and I don't remember having any problem with it so far.

Cell coverage in our ranch style home is so poor, not even 2 bars (sitting by a window). Most times we get no reception with out roaming.

I can't make any calls in my apartment, my texts are frequently delayed in getting delivered, and my data almost never works even though I'm supposed to have at least 2G.
