Nextel
Nextel phoes have decent reception. At least you do not get dropped calls like T-Mobile. The only place you don't get reception at for the Nextel phone under steel sturctures that are underground.

Swiss cheese coverage. Small spikes of great reception in tiny areas, in others, one to two bars. 80% of time, zero signal.

I guess its because I live near the mountains, but reception is ok. It was worst when I had AT&T though. But other then that everywhere else I go I get good recpetion.

Normally 0- 2 bars in this area. Cingular isn't strong enough.

Most times I'm lucky if I can get 2 bars. It's useless at 1 bar. TDMA is just slightly better at between 2 and 3 bars. As soon as my contract is done, I'll be looking elswhere for my carrier.

Terrible reception outdoors, and no reception indoors.

I just switched to Cingular. What a mistake! I have yet to use the phone because I get absolutely no reception anywhere in South bay. Not in my home / work, not outdoors anywhere. I've tried from Menlo Park to Cupertino and zilch! I was lured bu the $39 for 1000 minute deal that they're offering, but the deals not worth it if I can't use the phone!

Good reception on the road from Fremont to Sacramento. Only dead spot is Mission Blvd. near Niles at the tracks. Verizon is okie-dokie with me.
