AT&T Wireless (GSM)

I had AT&T digital with NO reception here. Switched to GSM and have had NO problems!

Metro is terrible, the bars keeping jumping from full, to no service. Sometimes calls cannot be recieved because of no service.

Over the years I have had service from most of the majaor carriers. Of those, Sprint (3-4 Bars) and Verizon (5 Bars) are the only ones that work within my house. The Verizon service is so good within my home that it is usually the phone of choice over the land carrier.

Other parts of Carmichael were good but this specific area was terrible; generally could not make or receive decipherable calls. People using Verizon had better (but not great) results than T-Mobile in this location.

I have Cingular with a Motorola V3 Razr phone. I get perfect reception here and very crystal clear connection.

Dropped signals in my South Natomas neighborhood. Same situation downtown where I work (3rd and N Sts, ZIP 95814) -- I've inadvertently picked up excess roaming charges when the phones have switched to analog. It's Sprint -- not the phones -- same situation previously with a Motorola and a Qualcom,

In 2 years I've only dropped a very small amount of calls. T-Moble has been great for me. Good price and good quality equipment and network.

Great here on Florin on the hill at work. Two blocks into the neighborhood dips to one or two bars. Generally pleased with Verizon's reception here.

no reception at all from sunrise and antelope to sunrise and cirby, which is a good mile. I live in between those streets and I can't even talk inside my apt or outside as well. I have to leave and go a mile away just to use my phone. and T-Mobile ain't doing nothing about it. don't ever get t-mobile. you'll be sorry...

Sprint has had the good coverage in Sacramento compared to other providers. I was with Cingular until early 2003, and tried AT&T GSM in early 2003 also. Neither had anywhere close to the reception coverage that Sprint had in 2003, with the coverage being comparable to Verizon in this market. With Cingular, I couldn't make or recieve a call in my apartment or at work (Stockton and Y Street), making the phone and service less than useful. I recommend Sprint to my friends in Sacramento and in San Francisco. Of note, the phone does make a significant difference in reception, please read the reviews before buying.
