Sprint

4 Out of 5 (4 stars) | North Plains | Exit 57, North Plains, OR 97133 |

Virgin Mobile (Sprint) service is pretty good the Hillsboro area. I frequently stream Pandora in the car, and it rarely loses signal on my phone. In rural areas, the service usually drops back to 1x, but that is enough for calls. The 4G WiMax signal is disappointing though. To make it work, the phone needs to be stationary and needs to be located in an area with strong signal (it's similar to WiFi). I rarely use 4G as a result. However, for $35 / mo, there is little to really complain about.

AT&T

1 Out of 5 (1 star) | 119th St. and 72nd Ave. | 119th St. and 72nd Ave., Vancouver, WA 98686 |

Been having issues of dropped calls, calls not going out, calls not coming through and not even going to voice mail! Texts coming in hours later or not at all. Went to ATT Store they told me 40 cells towers in Vancouver Wa are either degraded or out! Att refuses to let me out of my contract saying the contract says service is not guaranteed in all areas. Well when they signed me up they knew where I lived! If you have this issue call ATT. They refused to do anything until I told the rep "I can't wait to get that text to evaluate you!" Then she offered me a month of service free. I called my Senators and said there needs to be a law! Service guaranteed at your home!

Sprint

1 Out of 5 (1 star) | St. Helens, OR | 12th St., Saint Helens, OR 97051 |

The Sprint coverage map online says I have the best signal where I live and work in St. Helens. Outside the signal is strong (3-4 bars) but as soon as step into any building, home, work, store, etc, the signal drops to zero bars or it starts roaming, or I get the message " no signal". I am very frustrated with this service. Often my incoming calls do not even ring through. I hope something changes one of these days.

AT&T's coverage map shows 'good' reception but my average reception is 1.

My iPhone 4 on AT&T works great in this city, I have a prepaid plan on my iPhone tho. But it still works great! I never lose reception, ever.

When inside the house, calls are either dropped, not received, won't dial out, or full of static. Many of my voice mails and texts are not received until many hours later... Outside the house seems to be fine...

Reception was great at our home on strawbridge but has gotten significantly worse over the last two years. Use the AT&T microcell but it only covers parts of the house. Many phone calls to AT&T over several months and nothing has changed. I would not reccomend to others.

I have gone through three AT&T phones to try and improve my reception to no avail. I understand there is a unit available to potentially solve this dilemma. It is called the AT&T MicroCell. Shouldn't this be made available at no charge in a situation such as mine? My contract is up in a few months and my son has excellent reception through Verizon. If I can't resolve this by then, I will cancel my subscription with AT&T and go with Verizon. Thank you.
