AT&T really needs to improve their service in the Portland area. I cannot make a phone call in my house, sometimes unable to even text... despite having "2 bars LTE" on my iPhone 6. They really need to hurry up and get the Wi-Fi calling up and running or they will surely be losing customers.

I consistently get terrible data reception on my Verizon phone. I've talked to Verizon and they said there is nothing they can do. I've had three different phones that have all performed extremely terrible in this area. I wouldn't recommend Verizon to my worst enemy. Get your sh!t together, Verizon. Will be switching carriers soon.

Agreed Cell reception in the SE Woodstock area is horrible, text fail constantly, calls dropped, calls not received, cant call out half the time. AT&T you suck my 3g at least worked now this 4gLTE crap doesn't work worth a @#$%. Not just me I have talked to many people around here and they all say the same thing, get with it AT&T you rape us hard enough already.

Downtown Portland has abysmal AT&T data coverage. You may show full LTE bars, but good luck not having to wait far too long for any data to actually flow. I've had no problems with calls so this leads me to believe it's something internal to the network as opposed to the towers.

I have an old Verizon dumb phone with extendable antenna. I get 2 or 3 bars in this location, and the phone works. My wife's smart phone often does not work when driving through the coast range or other rural areas, while mine still works. So maybe the answer for people reporting such spotty coverage is to get a dumb phone for backup! At least you can still make calls...

4 Out of 5 (4 stars) | USA | USA, Oregon City, OR 97045 |

Just some general thoughts. If you travel in the US and drive between major metropolitan areas you will want Verizon. Yes AT&T is now advertising the "Strongest LTE Signal". But that means little when you have fewer towers than your competitor. In layman's terms regardless of signal strength you need to have signals that overlap from one antenna / tower to the next to avoid dropped calls. Think of it as people with open umbrellas. If these people covered the USA with the edges of the umbrellas touching there would be few gaps. Essentially what the marketing folks at AT&T are saying is that they have bigger umbrellas. What they aren't saying is that they don't have as many of those big umbrellas and there are many places that their big umbrellas don't touch. So there are gaps in coverage. AT&T's strategy has been different then Verizon's. AT&T focused on major metro areas and less so on the arterials between the metro areas. So if you stay primarily within the city, AT&T will work fine for you. If you like to be mobile, then you should go with Verizon.

I came in to get a new phone at the Tualtin metropcs and I ended taking an extra one for my daughter, this young ladywith such great atitude and personality really knows how to hook you with the right questions and answers. Rosie was really helpful she even helped me set up my phone and transfer my contacts and pictures from my old phone to the new one. and as a plus she gave me 50% of my accessories. I'm glad we still have employees that really know how to treat us customers, and to those employers that know how to find employees like this young lady. I love my service everything unlimited for such cheap price monthly, I Thank you Rosie for the great customer service you have and to Metropcs for having you around like I told you I have been sending you my friends and family members to take advantage of this great deal you guys offer... .. Had Verizon then moved to Sprint to save some funds every month. Worked out ok I guess for the first year. During second year Sprint's service was terrible! I paid early termination fee and MOVED TO CRICKET (at&t towers, shhh) I would honestly say better service than both of my last carriers. 5 lines with mixed data $120 that's it no fees!

Often have dropped calls and its hard to have a normal conversation while in my house on the cell. Coverage is also very spotty along Idleman road and I typically lose calls when talking with hands free device in the car aroudn here. Data signal is poor too- the only way I have survived is with a landline in our house and using Comcast wireless for data in our house.
