T-Mobile

4 Out of 5 (4 stars) | Westling Farms, Oregon City (South End Area), Oregon City, OR 97045 |

I got fed up with Verizon's despicable business practices and made the move to T-Mobile. Verizon is the undisputed winner in coverage, but T-Mobile works pretty well in Oregon City. The WPWB729 transmitter appears to be the closest T-Mobile licensed unit to our house and it provides a respectable 2 bars indoors. That written, coverage is non-existent when we drive out to Stafford or Wilsonville or up on Salamo in West Linn. That's a bummer, but not a deal breaker. It works well at our house and where I work in downtown PDX. I'm happy with T-Mobile so far and am glad to have an option to Verizon's despicableness and AT&T's complete lack of service out here.

So irritated! Makes me so mad to pay so much per month when I use my battery up, walk around in circles, and still lose calls. Not only that, but I wont receive calls, cant get on the internet but they still get my money. They should get paid fir only service that is provided.

Verizon

4 Out of 5 (4 stars) | 72nd Ave.SE | Market, Portland, OR 97215 |

I build cell sites for a living and Verizon has the best infrastructure by far. For all the people who are having poor reception indoors just by a repeater, booster or famocell. I get 4+ bars in my basement now.

Have a hundred dollar plan and reception isn't worth 2 cents. With the revenue Verizon gets you would think that upgrading towers would be top priorty... .frustration city... argggghhh

Sprint

1 Out of 5 (1 star) | Pearl District Lovejoy and 12th, Portland, OR 97209 |

Sprint is absolutely terrible. I get very slow or sometimes no Internet or data with them. Even when the phone indicates LTE it just sits and spins. Right in the heart of the fastest growing part of Portland you would think they could figure it out. Sprint is my work phone and a casual poll of about 15 other users and we all wish the company would switch I have an AT&T personal IPhone that has excellent speed and coverage. I can out the two exact devices side by side And the Sprint phone sputters while the AT&T soars around the web and email. I wouldn't recommend Sprint to anyone

AT&T

3 Out of 5 (3 stars) | SW Columbia and SW 16th | SW Clay and SW 14th, Portland, OR 97201 |

Voice calls are acceptable with one or two dropped calls per 20 calls. Data limit on phone is 3G and web speeds are acceptable, not great.

Verizon

I provide feedback from poor data speeds in downtown Portland last July. I have continued to complain and Verizon seems unable to improve performance. My office is on the 12th floor by the window. Data speeds began to noticeably degrade in early June and I collected extensive data that I shared with Verizon tech support.I am now out of contract so I just checked again and the 4G speed is 0.56 Mbps down and 0.28 Mbps up. This is worse than the old DSL I had from Quest in this same building. I guess I have to look elsewhere to get 4G in downtown Portland Oregon.

AT&T

1 Out of 5 (1 star) | Terwilliger | Taylor's Ferry, Portland, OR 97219 |

Our phone reception here is awful. Constant static, dropped calls, no service. Have to move around, go outside, etc. Half my conversations are "Can you hear me, can you hear me?" Highly frustrating. When I called AT&T I was told it was because of all the trees. Humph. My husband just got a new work phone with Verizon service so we are anxious to see if that is better. Wish I knew what Credo's reception is like here.

T-Mobile

4 Out of 5 (4 stars) | SE 16th and Clinton + Downtown, Portland, OR 97202 |

I switched to T-Mobile prepaid after getting a Nexus 4 and in Portland have had very few problems. Once in a while my voice will be choppy downtown but data is usually good. I will say that compared to Verizon, my previous carrier, T-Mobile's coverage outside of well-populated areas is pretty bad and the EVDO data speeds are atrociously slow (compared to Verizon's 1X data speeds). But this is 30 dollars cheaper and unlimited everything so it is worth it for me.

Verizon

1 Out of 5 (1 star) | Hwy. 43 Across From Bolton School, West Linn, OR 97068 |

I have two bars in the front of the house but lose reception most times when I go even halfway to the back of house. I have an Iphone 4, had better reception with my non smart phone. I have lived here for almost six years, didn't have a problem until the Iphone. Maybe they need more signal than the other phones I have had. I had my home phone disconnected because I didn't ever use it, now I really don't have phone signal in my bedroom. I thought the dropped calls might be due to my phone, they replaced my phone and still having a problem. Seems when you live right in town you should get good signal. Quite disappointing.
