Best cell reception I have had! I rarely drop calls. I used to have to watch where I went, but lately I have coverage everywhere.

At the top of the hill, SE Stark and 257th Full signal, go east on stark and you'll lose it by the time you reach Troutdale Rd.

The only places around town where it drops calls are in underground garages and inside a large building (like in a hospital). This is in sharp contrast to when I used to have AT&T wireless a couple of years ago, when calls were dropped so frequently that my friends thought I was developing antisocial personality traits.

it doesn't matter what cell phone or carrier. I live in hollyridge apts., and cell phone service is poor in all areas of apartments. All calls cut in and out, and get dropped all the time. Bars are usually o-1. But if you go to the second or third story balconys or hallways, service is slightly better. Maybe one more bar. There are no close cell phone towers that I can find.

I switched from Verizon, which rarely dropped calls, to T-Mobile which almost always shows 0 or 1 bar of signal. Sad. Don't do T-Mobile in the SW hills.

I heard bad things about Cricket when I lived in Salem. I never tried it out because of there coverage area. I recently moved to Portland and found out, (who hasn't heard, they are everywhere) that Cricket built out the Portland and Vancouver areas. This was perfect for me. My family lives in Salem, my brother goes to school in Corvalis (which Cricket now covers everything from North Vancouver, Wa. down to Cottage Grove on the I-5 to include Corvalis). I tried it out, no contract, I have everything, unlimited text, unlimited web, unlimted long distance, unlimited talk time... and my bill has been just over $50.00 a month every month. My coverage has been great. I work in Hillsboro, but I go everywhere to include Salem and Eugene. I have only dropped one call so far. My parents had a Verizon bill last month and it was over $300.00. They told me that there Verizon bills have always been over $300.00 a month for two phones. Their 2 year contract is up in three months, they told me that they are going with Cricket after they heard about my experience. One of my friends also purchased a Cricket phone and had her old number put on her new Cricket phone. I have to say, I should have purchased a Cricket phone a long time ago.

I have had no problems with T-Mobile reception anywhere in Portland. I always seem to have a good signal.

Great reception with my new Cricket phone. Much better than my old Cingular, with better voice quality and far, far fewer drops. It may be inexpensive, but it works great!

i was really skeptical about cricket at first but gave it a try anyways and I couldnt be more happy. I live in happy valley outside of clackamas and even out there I get great service. in the 3 months i've had there service i've only dropped a whopping 2 calls. Overall advise is to try it out cause I was told they'd be so so but ended up being amazing with out ever goin over a phone bill :) never a penny over 52.10 a month with web.. everything.
