Verizon

I am hating the Verizon service. I would definatly not recomend it drops constantly.

Moved here from San Francisco, always saw spotty coverage in the valleys and sometimes house. Since moving to Portland, see major drop in reception in the NE area. At the house we are not getting any calls and voice mail doesn't even show up til outside of house.

Reception has been below average since we moved here a year ago, but all of a sudden has dropped to poor... we cannot dial to or receive calls from our house as of a week or so ago. AT&T says there is no known problem in the area.

I used to have no reception at all inside my 2nd story Portland apartment. Since GSM, I got service everywhere. In the apartment outside of Motorola, at the river, even at my mom's house 10 miles south of Bandon. Then ATT & T and Cingular became one, reception sucks, and 1/3 of my calls are dropped. This sucks.

1-3 bars - seems to be a hole in Verizon's otherwise solid coverage.

I've had ATT TDMA for 9 years! It has worked well here in LO, on the mountain, in thne gorge, and at the coast. Last year, I tried their GSM plan and had NO reception at my home-that lasted one day and I returned all four phones. They refuse to upgrade me without a contract renewal even though I've been with them for almost 10 years. I'd really like free evenings and weekends (tho I effectively have free weekends with my weekend minutes). I am currently without contract so have a free move but have struggled with the alternatives. I get an 8% discount because of my employer. Verizon seems ok but charges $20 per extra line (and I have a total of 3 phones). All the other providers charge $10. Sprint is inexpensive but their native network is limited. T-Mobile has terrible coverage outside the Portland metro area.

The entire area from SW Broadway by Council Crest all the to SW Vermont has very bad coverage, I'm guessing due to the tower locations on the hills. The Terwilliger curves area also has notoriously bad cell phone and radio reception, probably for the same reason.

No reception in Mountain Park, Lake Oswego... across from PCC Sylvania. AT&T sucks. Many days and nights of frustration. If I'm lucky I will get to speak to somebody for about 2 minutes without be disconnected (at thats on a GOOD day). People try to call me and my phone says "This Phone Number Is No Longer In Service" to them, when they were just talking to me! Phone cuts off every minute. I spend far more time trying to reconnect and call back than I do speaking to my friends. Even at work in Tualatin I barely manage to a get a bar or two.

Very bad signal, but with the Kyocera phone I can usually hold a conversation. With the Nokia I had until a few months ago, calls constantly dropped off. The cellular signal is so bad here that many residents walk to the park (highest point in the area) to talk on their cell phones.

Reception only 1 bar inside my house. If I go about 50 feet from my home, the reception might get to 2-3 bars.
