T-Mobile
Horrible reception even near windows and on deck. I have problems placing and receiving calls due to poor coverage, and when a call actually goes through, it drops every 3-5 minutes.

Verizon
Calls drop in my apartment on average every 5-10 minutes. It's unbearable. Data constantly goes in and out all over Capitol Hill. I've been working with Verizon tech support for a year now, recording the times of my dropped calls and trying to get help for this terrible service. They are friendly but worthless. One of them told me, "Well, you're in Capitol Hill. That's why your reception is so bad. I hear many complaints about dropped calls in that area. We can't do anything about that.: I'll be switching to TMobile soon because I heard they are decent in Seattle.

virgin mobile - which I understand uses Sprint towers. great service in all of the the major metropolitan seattle area area, and eastside where I live and work though kirkland bellevue Redmond etc. Patchy to no service in rural areas or outline areas.

The AT&T Map shows my neighbor hood cell service signal with a "Best" rating. I have "Zero" signal on my iphone here in the Norma Beach area. The term "Best" should be changed to "Best Not Tyr To Use."

Terrible reception at home in Roosevelt, at my office at Fifth and Yesler, at my former home on Finn Hill in Kirkland, at my daughter's office on Queen Ann. One dropped call after another. Sprint has been a huge disappointment out here after the superb coverage I had in Washington DC.

Generally good coverage. My 3G phone is feels slow, but that may be because its 3G not 4G. But Verizon plans are expensive!

Frequently had issues when I lived at Firdale Village. Now living in a house and have only rarely had any problems. Not an issue for me at all when outdoors.

Been with Verizon for 2 years, definitely switching to a different carrier soon. The most reception I get in my house is 2 bars, drops to 1 or no reception in my basement. Calls dropped often. Overall very poor reception.

I had five bars on the Victoria Clipper, in the middle of Puget Sound, miles from land. But I can't get more than one bar in my own house, when I'm next to a window, on the fourth floor. What gives, Verizon?

Super Bowl Sunday and NO reception. I have never had this problem before, but it stops you dead in your tracks.

This is the second time in two weeks that I've had NO service available. Jan. 18 was the last one and now this weekend. Do I have to change service to achive proper coverage?

Correction to former review - the primary location I am commenting on is South Lake Union: "This reception business baffles me. I have the cheapest pay as you go phone with AT&T and I have THE BEST reception in a building / area where folks have a terrible time with the other carriers. What gives? Is it perhaps my little Samsung "toy phone"? I even get good reception in the garage below. Too bad this is merely my back up phone. Land line at home"

I always have service in the city. I never experience dropped calls, and I like my 8x.

I thought moving into the city would make my phone work better but unfortunately that is not the case. I have maybe 1 bar of 3G at times but mostly it switches to 2 bars of E. AT&T sucks here, which is why I'm switching to something else.

Used to get one bar and that was when I went outside. Now nothing. Time for another carrier.

Never a dropped call. Able to keep HD movies streaming while driving in the neighborhood without issues.

Dropped calls continuously. Unable to place a call multiple times. Device switches back and forth between LTE and 4G. From zero to three bars.

Verizon
Great! I don't know why Verizon gets such low marks. I've never had a dropped call, performance is excellent. Yes, I don't have "unlimited" data, but I've never even come *near* my data cap (and I'm a heavy data user, with lots of big downloads and streaming).

the connection is strong, but the data speed is about what I used to have on a 28k modem...

It's alright when you're outside, indoors is insufferable. Must keep the phone by the window, and even then it's a gamble to send / receive texts. Just one bar of 4G, step ten feet from the window and get nothing.

Service was great until about 2-3 weeks ago and now it's awful. I've had Sprint for 10 years - and haven't had many issues until now.

Sprint
To whoever posted the info about Sprint on Oct 28, I'm having the same problem. Reception's been fine until a month or so ago and now I get nothing at home. We live in the same area it looks like. I've been on the phone with Sprint several times trying to figure this out. They're telling me that all the towers are working fine. It would be nice to know that others are having reception problems in this area. Please call them as well if you haven't already. Maybe if enough people call, they'll do something about it.

Sprint
Adequate coverage until two weeks ago, then only roaming on Verizon after a long delay. The constant searching for a Sprint connection causes rapid battery exhaustion not seen before.

I must be really lucky I have never had a problem with Verizon coverage... pricing yes.
