2 Out of 5 (2 stars) | Ne Broadway and 28th, Portland, OR 97212 |

For the last 2 months I've been having terrible outages. Can't receive or make calls or send text messages for several hours. Just turned 3G off and that seemed to help.

Fairly decent here usually - however, NO reception at OHSU / on Marquam Hill.

Rarely drops calls, rarely have problems anywhere in the city, except for one particular spot: my place of work; it's terrible: 8111 S.W. West Slope Dr.(near border of Washington and Multnomah County, near top of the Sylvan hill off Rte. 26).

I get absolutely no signal in half of my house, while I get a weak signal with frequently dropped calls in the other half. Also, internet connection is slow at best when I'm at home. While there are some places outside of my house where I get a strong signal with fast internet, it isn't the norm. I've traveled the western US with my girlfriend, who has AT&T. She consistently has a better signal than I do. However, I'm switching to Verizon as soon as my contract is up. The plans cost more, but it seems that their coverage is the most consistent on a national level.

I've had several carriers when I was still working and traveling Idaho,Washington,Oregon and California and Verizon has been the most reliable carrier. This phone has been the best reception, during a major storm I was living in Long Beach,Wa. and was the only one with reception, I loaned my phone to people to call out.

During peak hours, maybe 9am to 8 pm I regulary have to turn 3g off to make calls or get data. Otherwise calls fail, are dropped, and Internet is nonresponsive. The iPhone is awesome, but the coverage is the worst I've ever had in 10+ years with a cellphone.

Consistently get between 1-2 bars. My phone probably sucks too (even though it's about 1 yr old), but my calls drop all the time. If it doesn't drop, then my voice or my caller's voice drops out. Based on the locations of cell towers in N. Portland, it's obvious no company wants to invest in the St. John's / Cathedral Park area. Too much government-supported housing? What gives?!

If i'm lucky moving around outside I can have a full conversation without a dropped call. Sprint customer service is the worst I have ever experienced as well.

Just switched to a Motorola Q9. Unlimited 3G is nice for both e-mail and internet. Don't have to pay anymore for this. Works great in Pearl and in NW Portland. Was recently in Denver. 3G and phone worked great there.
